Charging the pow and bombing the groomers comes the Burton Imperial snowboard boots. If Stormtroopers from Star Wars rode, this is what they'd wear, but they can't because they're off being evil and stuff... anyway, back to the boots. Suped up with the highest quality tech in the game, the Imperial is a no-nonsense, all mountain destroyer.

What good is a boot if you spend the majority of your time at the mountain fiddling with the laces, or trying to unfreeze your step-in boot base? No good at all. Thanks to Burton's Speed Zone Lacing System powered by Burton exclusive New England Ropes (with a sick lifetime warranty because they're that good), the days of struggle are at an end, and the glory days are upon you because cinching in is lighter, quicker, and easier than ever before.

If you've snowboarded before, you've undoubtedly had your fair share of slips and trips. Burton tackled this issue by adding a solid, non-slip-superior-grip Vibram EcoStep Outsole with Rubber Ice Spikes on the bottom. Forget eating it in the parking lot, near the lodge, or in front of snow bunnies. After helping boarders get a grip, Burton then tackled the issue of bulk. Snowboard boots are generally pretty hefty. The Low Profile EST Optimized Midsole is less cumbersome and more reactive, providing better board feel and control when you're ripping tricks in the park or carving first tracks into that sweet, sweet corduroy.

Burton Imperial Snowboard Boots - black/red
Boot fits very well. Significantly less heel lift than other boots that I have owned, Though it is not eliminated completely. All of the drawstrings do their jobs very well, so getting a nice snug fit is relatively easy. These boots are much lighter and less bulky than other models I have owned, which is good considering I have size 13 feet.

Burton Imperial Snowboard Boots (Closeout) - black/green/red
Disclaimer, I have only worn these inside since it's August here in FL. I am comparing these boots to the Burton Ambush which were my first boots. The Imperial has more distal foot and toe room even though the exterior dimensions subjectively are the same. For me, with a slightly wider foot, the Imperial is immediately more comfortable for my feet. The Imperials integrate with my Genesis bindings better too. Also, there is better heal grab. Finally, these boots are moderately stiff compared to the Ambush which is good for a boarder that is advancing in skills. I like my older Ambush boots but now that I have the Imperials, I am not looking back.

Phenomenal boot. Amazingly light. Great support. Easy lacing.
Looks great. Slightly stiffer than expected but breaks in quickly.

Burton Imperial Snowboard Boots - black
Even faster and more customizable than the Boa Focus system on some boots.
