TACTICS TEAM OVERVIEW

To many people, snowboarding, skating, and surfing are leisure weekend activities. This is the reality of life – not all of us have the time or abilities to ride day in and day out. However, there are a select few who are driven by the passion of their sport. These riders push themselves to the edge and fuel the inspiration of us all. Some of these riders are famous – think Shaun White, Tony Hawk, or Kelly Slater. Others charge just as hard, ride more days per year, and barely scrape enough change together each month to buy food – but you will probably never know their names. This committed core of individuals makes riding the heart of their lives and they form part of the soul of snow, skate, and surf.

Tactics salutes and supports these core riders. We are different from the vast majority of our competitors. Not only do we give 1% of our sales to the preservation of the planet, but we also maintain our own select team of core riders. Some of our riders are well established, others are the pros of tomorrow, and still others are the completely-committed, always-progressing, hard-charging, floor-sleeping, broke peanut-butter-and-jelly-eating rippers who command our respect as some of the most talented amateur riders from the Northwest.

We hope that supporting our team allows us to personalize snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing to you, our customer. There are no minor league programs in our sports – no farm teams, no college athletic scholarships, and no roster of professional scouts – so we want to do our part to help promote the riders who may aspire to some day make a living as a professional athlete. One of the mugs you see on the Tactics team may some day be on the cover of Rolling Stone as the most famous rider in the world. Another may be that guy with a big grin and his thumb out looking for a lift back from the mountain (give him a ride!). Regardless of whether they are professional or amateur, we will work hard to promote their talents and share with our customers their exploits and rambles.

All of our riders are expected to have values and personalities that are aligned with Tactics. We expect our riders to be honest, fun-loving, hard-working, sincere, and passionate about their commitment to riding. These riders are Tactics ambassadors and our faces in the field. We trust them to spread the good Tactics word wherever they go and embrace their job to energize the soul of riding.
