Three more Oregon skaters have qualified to compete in Northwest Jam on Saturday, Aug. 2, at WJ Skatepark in Eugene, OR.
Anthony Gomez took down the field during Tactics Boardshop’s Vans NWJ Qualifier on Saturday, July 19. Gomez carved up the WJ street section and showed off with some big air in the WJ bowls section. As the qualifier winner, Gomez is now automatically included in the field for Northwest Jam.
He’ll be joined by Roberto Gongora and Chad Fenlon, who also made the podium at the Vans sponsored event. In total, six skaters auto-qualified for Northwest Jam by reaching the podium of a local qualifier, including Brendan Garcia, Kyle Ward and Chris Holbrook, who qualified during CONScrete Carnage, hosted by Tactics and Converse on June 28.
The local qualifiers will join dozens of the top pro-am skaters from around the Northwest and around the country as they compete for a $5,000 prize purse during Tactics’ inaugural Northwest Jam. They’ll also get a shot at a winner-takes-all $1,000 best trick contest.
