Durometer (Hard to Soft)

78a - Soft and gooey, this is the most common durometer we see in the longboard/cruiser wheel world. These wheels have great grip for cornering and easily rolls over cracks, small rocks, and rough surfaces without tripping you up. When sliding, 78a wheels have a tendency to smear across the surface of the road, offer great control, slow you down rapidly, wear quickly, and leave thane lines. Ideal for cruising, carving, freeride, and downhill.

Urethane skate wheels generally range from 75a-101a, the numbers increase with the hardness of the wheel.

Wheel Profile

You may notice a discrepancy between what we designate a wide, standard or narrow and what the brands do. This classification is our opinion based on years of skating, as well as looking at the profile of the wheel as it compares to what we believe is a standard profile. You just have to trust us on this.

Wide - Wide wheels provide more traction and stability at high speed, so you'll be less likely to slip out of your line.

Surface Type

Smooth - Smooth wheels have a shiny coating on their surface that is commonly referred to as its skin or mold release. Smooth wheels are generally preferred for their grip and traction.

OJ III Hot Juice Skateboard Wheels
these are great for cruising flats you'll never have to worry about a crack or a rock again, but if youre trying to control your speed by sliding a bit... good luck. these wheels don't budge at all. I've had mine for a while (i don't skate my cruiser board often) and while the wheels are well broken in, still theres no sliding at all. not even a little.

on normal skate wheels i can slide and slide and slide... so its not me! i just purchased a set of ricta clouds 86a durometer, haven't skated them yet but i hope that they will have the smooth cruising of this wheel but with the ability to slide like a normal skate wheel.

Have these on my G&S Pine Design reissue... cruises as smoothly as they did in the late 70s.

OJ III Hot Juice Skateboard Wheels
They go over most cracks and spaces in tiling without any trouble! (obviously not cracks and spaces larger than the wheel itself) They aren't sliders though, you will eat s*** if you try! Great grip, which helps when going down steep hills that curve. With a loose kingpin, these things are utterly amazing and can turn on a dime! (I'm a very light person and need to have the kingspin quite lose to narrow the turn radius) Biggest weakness is that they last only about a year, but they're only $25, so it's not that bad!
