After a while it's turning is not what you want but a good stable ride with correct wheels and bearings

Haven't skated very much in years, and picked this longboard up to cruise the strands and neighborhood streets. Perfect board for new and long time rider. Plus the graphics are sweet and begs you to ride it by the beach.

Sector 9 Lookout 41.125" Bamboo Drop Through Complete Longboard (Closeout) - silver trucks / blue wheels
I got this for my 19 year old son as a graduation gift since I had already bought him a car last year. He is about to start college and I wanted to get him something to get around campus. He has never had a long board before and he's tall and skinny about 6'2, 150lbs. I wanted something that was easy to ride with good stability that turns well and moves fast. He's going to UTSA in the fall and the UTSA campus has hills yet lots of turns, etc. He loves this thing. He says that the low profile, drop-through is a must for beginners. He's already catching some good speed on it but more than anything else it is a very stable board with an excellent grip. I actually tried it myself with a beer in hand, caught some speed and did not fall! I would not recommend trying a board out this way but I'm old, if I bust my butt...who cares!

    Asked by Marc on 2/18/2013
Which board would be better: This or the iguana clxs. I'm looking for occasionally bombing hills, cruising most of the time, and getting from point A to point B.
Answered by Jesse C (Tactics Employee) on 4/2/2013
I think you will like the Lookout more. The Iguana is nice and long and will be stable on hills, but the Lookout is only a couple inches shorter and will still be stable. The Lookout is also a drop-through, which lowers your center of gravity and helps maintain control at speeds. The drop-through is also really nice for just cruising around. Being lower to the ground makes pushing easier too.

I'm a big guy- 6'3" about 230lbs- would this board be strong enough for me? I'm looking at this or the arbor axis
Answered by Kyle R (Tactics Employee) on 3/7/2013
Yes this is board is constructed from 5 vertical plys of bamboo, so its weight capacity will be more than capable of carrying a 200 - ~260 lbs
