Overview

Gilbert Crockett is an all-terrain terrorizer, so it's fitting that the second incarnation of his signature shoe is equipped to handle most anything you throw at it. Vans Wafflecup Construction and superior cushioning combine to provide a comfortable ride that can help withstand the biggest of impacts, and allow you to roll away in one piece. This shoe is the perfect marriage of classic style, paying homage to legendary Van's shoes of the past, and modern technology focused on board feel and cushioning.

Features

Sole

Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. These don't provide as much foot protection as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.

Cupsole - Durable and shock-absorbing to provide the best impact protection against hard landings. Cupsoles generally last longer than a vulcanized sole but don't provide as much flexibility and board feel right out of the box.

Footbed

PopCush™ - Vans' PopCush insoles snap back and won't pack! This proprietary foam compound was meticulously tuned and tested for impact protection, superior cushioning, and custom energy return. This upgraded foam performs better than Vans' UltraCush™ compound for all types of skating so you can skate longer and go harder than ever before.

Details

Wafflecup™ Construction - A vulcanized cupsole? YES. This revolutionary construction offers skaters the support of a cupsole with the board feel of a vulcanized shoe.

Molded Heel Pocket Insert - Anatomically molded heel cup inserts are shaped to lock heels in place without the need for bulky foam padding.

Duracap™ - Developed and tested to withstand the abuse of the Vans pro skateboarding team; reinforcement is provided through rubber underlays in the toebox and ollie-area for lasting durability to save you time and money.

I’d size up .5

Vans Gilbert Crockett Pro Skate Shoes - blackout
I wear 11.5 in vans eras and got these in 11.5 but the insole is bulky and takes a lot of room out of the shoe. I swapped insoles so I could break them in and they are a little better after a few weeks but would still recommend sizing up to take advantage of the pro cush insole.

Order a full size up if you want to get the best fit with this shoe. I had to send them back and reorder 10’s instead of my usual 9’s. They are super comfy and built to last.

Look great, Not as good as the Crockett highs

Vans Gilbert Crockett Pro Skate Shoes - black/forest night
Pretty good looking shoe. Very slim profiled and good for cruising but the flick is not great compared to the highs. I keep missing or have a flimsy flick because the toe does not have a cap on it like the Crockett highs. It works for big ollies and getting onto ledges, but the toe needs more structure. Would buy on sale, but probably not for full price.

Crockett's a bit narrow

Vans Gilbert Crockett Pro Skate Shoes - black/true white
The Crockett's are really rad, love the low profile and of course the board feel is unmatched! My only complaint is the toe box is a bit narrow even with thin socks. My old pair felt the same way, and it took a minute to break in. Otherwise, a solid skate shoe.

Vans Gilbert Crockett Pro Skate Shoes - marshmallow/gum
Love the shoe skates better than anything else I’ve skated in 14 years and looks dope to boot! Worth noting I do prefer the high top as I’ve had milptle pairs of both the highs and the lows and while the lows are quick and easy and look sick the highs protect those ankles better but also seem to last longer for some reason.. either way a fantastic shoe!
