some good ideas but ultimately flawed

Vans Rowley Pro Lite Skate Shoes - pewter
I used these primarily off the board and walked and lounged in them.
They look really nice and have a tough mesh material on the rear sides of the shoe for breathability. The vulcan rubber comes up high giving you a lot of stickiness and best for technical tricks. The shoe is also very flexible and feels lightweight. The heel/ankle area is better this time but still needs better padding or design to truly lock in your heel.
The worst part is that these are too narrow. It's made worse by the inner liner that keeps the tongue in place. I don't understand why this was added as the front is all one piece suede and makes it hotter. So the front of your foot is hot but the back is nice and cool from the mesh. Just gusset straps on the tongue would have worked better.
Please Vans, start making Rowely Pros a bit wider. The previous version of the Rowley's were also a bit narrower and your heel pops out.
