Sole

Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. The sole consists of several layers of rubber, glued together then attached to the upper with rubber foxing tape. Vulcanized soles don’t provide as much foot protection or support as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.

Details

UltraCush HD - Vans' polyurethane-based UltraCush HD sockliner keeps the foot close to the board yet won't pack out over time, providing the highest level of Impact cushioning.

Original Waffle Outsole - Back in '66 Paul van Doren made the first soles of his new shoes twice as thick so they would wear longer. That decision ended up defining the company when the world's first skateboarders discovered how Vans' Waffle Outsole let them feel their board while staying firmly connected to it.

Duracap - Vans shoes with Duracap feature reinforced rubber underlays in the areas where your shoes wear out the fastest. Durcap was developed and tested to withstand the abuse of the Vans pro skateboarding team, and gives you added durability even if you skate daily.

Vans Sk8-Hi Pro Skate Shoes - black/infinity
Great shoe, holds up well to freestyle longboarding while still staying stylish.
Only complaint is that the insoles and heels lack definition. No heel pocket means my heels slip up every time I push. Kinda annoying, but that's not the shoes fault per se

Vans Sk8-Hi Pro Skate Shoes - khaki/gum
My last pair of sk8-hi's the soles fell out. These ones are holding up way better. Ultracush insoles are awesome and ward off my recurring heel pain. The waffle sole grips well as always. Overall good shoe, comfortable, and hardworking.

Vans Sk8-Hi Pro Skate Shoes
Well made and comfortable. Wear them for working long hours standing and walking in a restaurant, and the cushion really makes a difference in comfort. My feet always hurt but not with these shoes. Nice lower price in this site for the khaki/gum style. Hopefully Tactics also reduce the price of the "black out" style too :-)
Highly recommended!

Vans Sk8-Hi Pro Skate Shoes - blackout
Bought these for the teenager in our home, for Christmas. He approved in every way, shape, and form. Shoes are very comfortable, stylish and very well made. They have held up well, compared to other shoes he's had. He's always on his bike doing this, that and the other. Falls more than I think he should but thankfully he hasn't damaged the shoes, that's a win, right? Great quality and definitely worth the money.
