Hardware Compatibility Explained - Longer bolts are needed to accommodate the addition of risers. Deck thickness is another factor in this. Reference the chart below to find out what length hardware your setup will require. These are the suggested standard, you can go longer, just don't go shorter.

I like the wooden risers that Real makes specifically for Thunders and Ventures. Had a hard time finding an 1/8" inch Real version, so I got these. There's nothing specific to Thunder here. With the elongated slots, they basically work with any truck. As long as you get the riser even under the baseplate, they're fine.

Thunder Trucks Skateboard Riser Set
I use these double stacked to get the ride height that I like, I use two 1/8 risers and 1 1/8 hardware. Most charts say to use 1 1/4 hardware, but the 1 1/8 leaves les thread hanging off.
