The 686 Deconstructed Denim pants take inspiration from your favorite pair of worn-in jeans. Durable 2-Layer InfiDRY® stretch fabric gives you breathable and waterproof protection while giving you a full range of motion, and Beamis® taping ensures that the water wont seep in. Air-Flo™ mesh inner leg vents quickly dissipate heat and the Pant Jacket Connect™ system keeps your powder skirt secure. A gusset on the bottom of the pants opens up to slide over your boots, and the gaiter is compatible with BOA® boots. A solid pair of snow pants that doesn't break the bank. Even with all of this awesome tech, you'll still be the most casual looking guy on the mountain.
Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.
Polyester Fill - Polyester insulation may not be as warm or light as down, but it's far easier to clean and performs better in wet conditions. If cost is a concern or you live in a wet climate then polyester insulation might be your best option.
Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.
Bemis® Seam Tape - All 686 taped seams feature Bemis branded taping to further ensure quality workmanship and guaranteed waterproofing.
Boa® Compatible Boot Gaiter - Makes access to the Boa® dial on your boots convenient and easy.
Cordura Cuff Guard - Cordura reinforced heel protection at the bottom inside lining of snow pants.
Horseshoe Hem - The upward curved shape along the back pant leg hem opening.
InfiDRY® Fabric Construction - 686 InfiDRY® fabric is perfect for daily use in a wide range of conditions. Specialty fabrics are laminated and bonded to a Polyurethane (PU) InfiDRY® membrane on the underside of the fabric. This membrane blocks water and snow from entering your garment, yet is hydrophilic on the inside - attracting any moisture inside your jacket (sweat) and moving it through to the outside of the fabric where it is able to evaporate, thus keeping you both dry and warm.
For further protection, the laminated fabric is then coated on the exterior with a water resistant DWR coating to repel snow and water from penetrating the fabric. This creates a superior fabric with a one-way portal for moisture that is virtually impenetrable from the outside, yet allows your body’s sweat to evaporate and pass through the fabric from the inside out creating a more comfortable riding experience.
