From the backcountry to the park, from sub-zero to thawing, Thermagraph™ body mapping insulation technology gives you warmth where you need it, letting you stay out longer. 686's InfiDRY® stretch fabric provides waterproof and breathable protection, along with fully taped Beamis® seams and YKK® AquaGuard® water-resistant zippers, ensuring that water doesn't leak in. The adjustable powder skirt has Lycra stretch panels to provide a snug fit, and have a loop to connect to your 686 snow pants. An asymmetrical zipper prevents the zip from pinching your neck and makes room for the Vader™ face vents. Articulated designs give this jacket a full range of motion and the under arm vents quickly dissipate heat. The Hydra Thermagraph™ jacket allows you to ride confidently, knowing you will leave the mountain just as warm and dry as when you arrived.

Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.
Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.
Articulated Fit - Engineered to explore. Ergonomically engineered fits are designed to work with your body as you explore the backcountry, sending it off your favorite park jump or just ripping around the resort.

Bemis® Seam Tape - All 686 taped seams feature Bemis® branded taping to further ensure quality workmanship and guaranteed waterproofing.
InfiDRY® Fabric Construction - 686 InfiDRY® fabric is perfect for daily use in a wide range of conditions. Specialty fabrics are laminated and bonded to a Polyurethane (PU) InfiDRY® membrane on the underside of the fabric. This membrane blocks water and snow from entering your garment, yet is hydrophilic on the inside - attracting any moisture inside your jacket (sweat) and moving it through to the outside of the fabric where it is able to evaporate, thus keeping you both dry and warm.
For further protection, the laminated fabric is then coated on the exterior with a water resistant DWR coating to repel snow and water from penetrating the fabric. This creates a superior fabric with a one-way portal for moisture that is virtually impenetrable from the outside, yet allows your body’s sweat to evaporate and pass through the fabric from the inside out creating a more comfortable riding experience.
Thermagraph Strategic Insulation - Scientifically positioned insulation panels are strategically placed to keep you warmer where your body needs it most, at your core, while still allowing maximum breathability and flexibility of your jacket.
