Overview
The Bones ATF Rough Riders skateboard wheels feature an H5 hub that is chemically bonded to the interior of the wheel for a secure hold. The hub's size is now smaller to enhance the smoothness of the ride, while a widened core increases roll speed over rough terrain.

Wheel Profile

You may notice a discrepancy between what we designate a wide, standard or narrow and what the brands do. This classification is our opinion based on years of skating, as well as looking at the profile of the wheel as it compares to what we believe is a standard profile. You just have to trust us on this.

Wide - Wide wheels provide more traction and stability at high speed, so you'll be less likely to slip out of your line.

Surface Type

Smooth - Smooth wheels have a shiny coating on their surface that is commonly referred to as its skin or mold release. Smooth wheels are generally preferred for their grip and traction.

Formula

All-Terrain Formula (ATF) - All-Terrain Formula wheels are poured in a special soft urethane Bones calls "All-Terrain Formula." ATF wheels are excellent for rougher terrain so regardless of road quality, this revolutionary formula will roll you there quickly and smoothly.

Durometer

80a - Soft with plenty of grip. You'll be able to smoothly roll over rough surfaces without getting hung-up on cracks or small rocks. These wheels are slightly harder than the standard 78a and are easier to initiate into slides and drifts. They offer great slide control and are more durable, but won't slow you down as quickly as 78a wheels. Ideal for cruising, carving, freeride, and downhill. Also a good filming duro as its a bit faster than some of the softer varieties.

Urethane skate wheels generally range from 75a-101a, the numbers increase with the hardness of the wheel.

Bones ATF Rough Riders Skateboard Wheels
They're fast as ####. Grip like a mother and will take you where you want to go. the 65 mm will turn your standard setup in to a speed machine. The graphic comes off pretty fast though but who gives a ####. When you can skate over cracks and rocks without busting your ass. Buy em. It's not hard to Chang to normal wheels once you've cursed to you're skate spot.

Bones ATF Rough Riders Skateboard Wheels - red (80a)
Great cruiser wheel, and brought some life back to an old crusty rained out mini ramp. Smooth and fast even on the crustiest surfaces. A little tooo bouncy for serious session though.

Fucking great guys. They roll over just about anything you could ask for. No more pushing off and your board jolting to a stop because of a rock.

56mm or 59mm for a street/lightweight cruise setup...8in board with independent hollow trucks and swiss bearings...thoughts?? I want to still be able to ollie high but cruise smooth
Answered by James D (Tactics Employee) on 7/25/2017
56mm would be your best bet if you want a light cruiser set up. Anything bigger than 56 will be hard to ollie with.

Asked by Grizzly on 6/19/2017
How would the 56mm do on a rougher skatepark?
Answered by James D (Tactics Employee) on 6/20/2017
They'll be smooth and fast, but they will not slide very well. You generally want a harder wheel for skateparks, if you're kickturning on a big ramp, and your front wheels catch grip, you'll probably end up falling.

I'm trying to decide between the 56 or 59mm. I had 63mm wheels and I got bad wheel bite, so I was thinking I might need 1/8 or maybe 1/4 risers if I ended up getting the 59mm wheels. I would just be cruising and doing ollies, if that helps.
Answered by Danny M (Tactics Employee) on 1/12/2017
I would say go with the 59's if you are feeling it and pair them with the 1/4 inch risers to avoid that wheel bite.

Asked by BRANDON on 6/13/2016
So are these cruiser wheels or street wheels? I ride street and I really like the appearance of these but I don't want a big heavy bulky wheel.
Answered by Elijah W (Tactics Employee) on 6/16/2016
These are cruiser wheels but have the shape of a street wheel. They will be very soft and give you the feeling of a cruiser.
