Overview
Go everywhere from groomers to backcountry, from an urban assault to the half pipe and 80 foot jumps because this is one of the most versatile bindings on the market. For 2018, the buckles and straps have been redesigned to offer flexibility that wraps around your boots easily and holds them in place with a few quick clicks. The Smooth Glide Buckle system uses the most reliable buckles out there and when you're on you're third season and they still ratchet like magic you'll thank Burton for designing and producing these themselves, instead of outsourcing like a lot of other brands do. For extra cushioning on the heavy landings, Burton adds B3 Gel and an AutoCANT FullBed so you'll experience less leg fatigue and can stay out on the hill longer.
Overall, this medium-flex binding is one of the highest rated bindings out there so you really can't go wrong with this choice.

Key Features

Re:Flex™ Baseplate - With a minimized, cored baseplate and Living Hinge disc, RE:Flex dramatically improves board flex and feel, reduces weight, and opens the doors for all sorts of cushioning options.

Re:Flex increases board flex and feel by a whopping 71% for more natural taste and texture than that of traditional disc bindings, all in a package that's compatible with any platter, including 4-Hole insert patterns, Burton 3D hole patterns and the latest generation of The Channel.

The minimized, cored baseplate reduces weight by 20%, while a Living Hinge disc delivers heaps of flex and allows for all sorts of cushioned toppings.

Flex Slider Ankle Strap Hinge - The Flex Slider makes strapping-in a breeze, thanks to a stretched hinging zone that allows the ankle strap to flex and fall fully open and out of the way of your boot. Easy in, easy out.

The Flex Slider is also stronger and worthy of Burton's Lifetime Warranty.

Lifetime Warranty (Limited, See Details) - Covered under manufacturer lifetime guarantee against breakage of the baseplate or heelcup along with defects in materials or workmanship. This lifetime warranty DOES NOT cover broken bindings due to abuse or neglect, damage caused by any modification done outside the manufacturer's facility, or lost parts due to lack of hardware maintenance.

Burton's Flex Slider hinged strap IS covered under their Lifetime Warranty.

Highbacks, other straps, ratchets and other binding components are not included under lifetime warranty.

Highback

Zero-Lean Hi-Back - Riders who prefer a more playful and relaxed feel will dig the new Zero-Lean design on select hi-backs. As always, you can still choose to crank 'em forward for quicker control when carving or climbing icy pipe walls.

Canted Hi-Back Design - This ergonomic design follows the natural contours of your left and right legs to maximize control.

DialFLAD™ Forward Lean Adjuster - The higher the forward lean angle on your Hi-Backs, the quicker your heel-edge turns. Crank 'em forward for icy hits in the pipe or back 'em off for jibbing.

DialFLAD features mind-blowing, tool-free adjustability for even easier adjusting than the FLAD.

Living Hinge™ Highback Adjustability - This Burton exclusive technology eliminates hardware and weight, and allows you to adjust your forward lean and hi-back rotation independently.

Straps

Asym Hammockstrap™ Ankle Strap - A stitch-less strap with 3D modeling that weaves a soft, ultralight hammock with a stiff spine to increase response and comfort. The asymmetrical Hammock allows you to flip the strap for increased freedom or run stock for power and support.

GettaGrip Toe Capstrap™ - The Toe GettaGrip Capstrap™ has a 3D curved, Triple Axis Spine with ultra-minimized Capstrap™ Construction, Grip Fit and True Wrap Toe Window. It also features Super Lightweight EVA padding for premium comfort and contoured fit.

Designed to be conformable from Capstrap™ to Toe Strap.

Smooth Glide™ Buckles - Polished, chrome-plated aluminum and lightweight polycarbonate levers give you season after season of buttery smooth and reliable ratcheting power. Designed and built by Burton, not some shady supplier.

Baseplate

Single Component Base Construction - One material throughout creates consistent response and feel for all-terrain domination.

45% Short-Glass/Nylon Base: Tough - 45% Short-Glass/Nylon Composite Baseplate - Carbon performance without killing your credit card.

AutoCANT FullBED Cushioning System - Dual-density EVA automatically settles your boot into a natural position regardless of stance width or angles for improved comfort, reduced fatigue, and smoother, more direct board control.

FullBED Cushioning System - FullBED baseplate cushioning offers a full coverage, cushioned platform that maximizes comfort while minimizing fatigue. Anchored to the baseplate at the heel, its stealth trap door design lifts at the heel on Disc bindings and on the toe on Re:Flex bindings, making it easy to access the mounting hardware.

B3 Gel Heel Cushioning - The same cushioning found in Burton's high-end boots are found in these binding footbeds, focused underneath the heels for unstoppable impact protection.

Why No Metal? - Why No Metal? Burton refuses to ride metal because it's too rigid, too heavy, and too likely to bend and distort. Instead, Burton crafts their bindings out of a variety of materials, each engineered to satisfy specific riding styles.

Re-Ground Materials to Reduce Waste - Burton believes that being environmentally and sustainably conscious is the best business practice out there. That is why they integrate recycled, re-ground material into the quality products they make everyday, which means less garbage in the landfill and more premium Burton gear for you.

Burton Cartel Snowboard Bindings
Just don't care for them and don't see what all the hype is. The highback seems weak and so does the binding. Use imperial boots and they didn't even fit the cartels all that great. The disc has set holes and forces you to use there set points. The reason there customer service is so good is because they have so many coming back. Needless to say I got rid of them.

Burton Cartel Snowboard Bindings (Closeout) - lichen
This is the second pair of Cartels I've owned. This set is even lighter and more cushy than the last.
Super responsive, easy to adjust on the hill, perfect high backs. I love them. Perfect for my style of riding. Charging trees, hunting out pow stashes, carving the groom and the occasional hit or jib.
