Footprint Painkiller socks are embedded with Artilage (Artificial Cartilage Foam) in the shin and ankle bone areas to protect from shinners… Artilage is a unique type of memory foam that becomes firm when impacted therefore allowing the socks to be comfortable and form fitting like a normal sock while still being very protective.

Probably a waste of money. They work and fit well but I probably won't use them. They're hot, awkward to put on/off, the shin protector starts about 5" up from ankle. The ankle ball protector hits my shoe and feels weird. I'd rather just wear soccer shin guards under some pants if I needed some extra safety.

I bought these to protect my shins on my mountain bike. I'm very pleased with these bad boys. You really can't beat these for the price. They're a little hot but I'd rather sweat than shred my shins on flat pedals.

It’s amazing to me that more companies don’t make socks like this. They are a little tough to get on, but it’s all worth it. I wear these every time I skate and they have saved my shins time and time again. They don’t slip off or fall down when skating. I’m a size 9.5 shoe with average sized calf muscles and they work beautifully. If you’re wanting something to save your shins and ankles, there is no other product like this. These are the answer.
