Shorter boards in this category make up the cruising department. Some have functional kicktails, but they're still made to fit large wheels so you won't get hung up on any rocks. Some are even small enough they can fit in lockers or under a work desk.
Longer boards are made for distance skaters. With features like rocker, flex, and anything to lower your center of gravity, commuting boards make skating feel like you have your own cloud underfoot. These boards are really great for beginners and experienced riders alike.

Carving & Pintail - Deep carves, boardwalk cruising, and mellow hills are calling you. This is the traditional Californian longboard and is still relevant today. You'll find the longest wheelbases in this category meant for big turns and a large surface area for dancing.
Top Mount - The classic skate mount. Trucks are mounted from the top to sit flush with the bottom of the board for that proven ride and feel (as opposed to drop-through mounts, which are mounted through the board to lower your center of gravity).
Standard - For the rider that just wants a solid plank underfoot without reactive camber or mellow rocker, the standard deck will deliver exactly what you see in the picture. A favorite for technical downhill, standard decks are the most predictable and some swear they break-in better than other profiles.
Directional - Directional boards might have concave towards the front, maybe the tail is tapered, it could be shaped to have a fatter nose than tail, and it probably feels awkward if you hop on backwards. However, when you want to pump a board, or you want to have something that sets you up for the fastest line, directional boards are great. Whether you are looking for a really responsive directional board for carving and cruising or a precision downhill deck, a directional board could be in your future.
Kicktail - Kicktails on longboards can be used to ollie, manual, and do flip tricks just like on a regular skateboard.
Wheel Wells/Flares - For the boards that don't need full wheel cutouts, wheel wells are beveled out of the board to give the extra clearance needed to avoid wheelbite.
Mild Concave - With the right concave underfoot you'll feel you can skate anything. Concavity can be seen if you look at a board straight down the nose to the tail. Mild concave shows as a slight rise towards the edges of the deck giving your feet plenty of places to lock in. Choosing the right concave can be tough because it's all personal preference, but you can't go wrong if you don't already have a preference.
8-Ply Hard Rock Maple Construction - 8 plies of hard rock maple for a durable and stiff ride. This construction method is great for carving and cruising, providing a responsive and secure feel under your feet.
180mm Slant Inverted Trucks - Slant Inverted Trucks provide a smooth, stable roll for easy carving and transitions with great stability at higher speeds. Featuring high-grade alloy construction and hardware, these trucks are engineered to stand up to the most abusive skating. All Slant trucks are guaranteed for life.
Slant Inverted Trucks come with reversible hangers, so you can choose between a 50° or 54° angle. They come stock at 50°, which provides greater stability at high speeds, but if you want to execute tighter turns feel free to flip that hanger to 54°.
Globe 70mm 83a Wheels - Hard enough for sliding through turns and drifting, yet soft enough for riding over craggy streets without getting hung up on rocks.
ABEC 7 Bearings - ABEC 7 bearings are highly precise and turn faster for longer. A precise bearing means that it has a higher tolerance to heat caused by friction.
