The L1 Sutton Jacket is designed for the backcountry, with go anywhere style. 2-Layer micro herringbone fabric provides 15k waterproofing and breathability with fully taped seams to keep you dry. Underarm vents keep you cool while hiking and the snap away powder skirt attaches to your snow pants. The adjustable hood, hem, and cuffs perfect the fit and stretchy wrist gaiters easily slip over or under your gloves.
Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.
Polyester Fill - Polyester insulation may not be as warm or light as down, but it's far easier to clean and performs better in wet conditions. If cost is a concern or you live in a wet climate then polyester insulation might be your best option.
Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.
2-Way Front Zipper - Two pulls allow the opening to be closed or opened in two opposite directions at the same time. Unzipping the bottom zipper a bit allows for a wider range of movement and offers easy access to internal pockets.
Jacket to Pant Interface - Connect your jacket to your pants for better protection from the elements.
