Overview
You'll love how this board floats and carves on your first day of riding and every day after that. It's mind-blowing to think people used to start on super stiff, crazy cambered boards that were unforgiving and caught edge faster than you could say "Ouch". Geometry is very useful when it comes to designing snowboards and while the people at Lib Tech didn't have to know cosine and tangent, they do know what angles work for the perfect edge hold and what combination of cambers make riding fun and easy, the original BTX profile. Because there's rocker between you feet you can float and turn on a dime, but they also throw a mild amount of camber directly under the binding areas to give the board more pop. The serrated edges use seven points to give you the extra traction you need in icy conditions while added Birch in the sidewalls offers strength for the times you do happen to have a scrap with a tree or a rock. The base is made up of an interesting dual Fluoropolymer material that is Lib's fastest unwaxed base. This means that even though it's extruded, it's still fast. Plus, you benefit from the durability and easy maintenance that comes along with extruded bases. This board is recommended to be used all over the mountain for beginners and will become a favorite park/jib board for you a few seasons in. Handmade by a snowboarder, the Skate Banana is great for any level of riding.

Key Features

BTX Banana Rocker Profile - Mervin's revolutionary original all terrain freestyle banana blend. Rocker between your feet blended with flat-to-mild camber to contact points. Focuses pressure between your feet for easy turns, great edge hold on ice and a mild amount of pressure to the tip and tail for excellent float and catch-free freestyle.

Magne-Traction Serrated Edges - Award-winning Magne-Traction features strategically placed bumps that create seven contact points along each side of your sidecut. This increases edge hold and allows for knife-like carves without the hook. Magne-Traction is a perfect complement to Banana Rocker and helps increase grip and control.

Original Power Construction (OP) - Light, environmentally nice, and strong, the Original Power (OP) construction is used on more Lib boards than any other construction. Renewable core woods keep it light and eco-friendly while ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) material is used in the sidewalls as well as the tip and tail to deflect impacts and make your ride noticeably smoother.

Specific to the OP+ construction, Lib uses a sintered base vs the traditional extruded TNT base and the shock absorbing bio-bean topsheet. This increases damping and speed.

Handbuilt in the USA - Every Lib Tech board is handmade by snowboarders with jobs in the USA.

Core

Aspen Wood - Light, strong, lively, fast growing, heat treated for maximum pop and long life.

Columbian Gold Wood - A lightweight, renewable wood core with loads of pop! This core provides increased response for precise turns when carving.

Birch Internal Sidewalls - Rugged, lightweight, vertical end grain Birch internal sidewalls add pop and durability where you need it when things get hard.

Laminates

Bi-axial Fiberglass - This 2-way fiber orientation is engineered to increase snap and decrease chatter.

Tri-axial Fiberglass - This 3-way fiber orientation is engineered to provide maximum snap while decreasing chatter.

Base

TNT Base - TNT is a dual Fluoropolymer extruded base infused with Titanium and Teflon. A Lib Tech favorite for its durability, this is Lib Tech's fastest unwaxed base. TNT can be waxed less than a sintered base and will stay fast longer. Not as high maintenance as sintered, yet offers comparable performance.

Details

Eco-Sub PBT Top Sheet - Sounds technical right? It just means the top sheet is made from sublimated polyester material that's great for vibrant yet durable graphics, which means a long lasting image. When the graphics are as good as Gnu's you'll be glad you have it.

Mervin Made: EnvironMENTAL Construction - All Lib Tech snowboards are handcrafted by Mervin Manufacturing in the USA near Canada!

Mervin has been environmentally aware from the beginning - 25+ years!

No cancer-causing toxic automotive lacquer clearcoats.

Soy-based elastomer sidewalls instead of toxic ABS.

Made using renewable forest products for all snowboard cores. Fast growing trees have long fibers and natural pop. Wood is nature's fiberglass!

Made with only low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) epoxy resin systems. Mervin's resin doesn't stink or make you dizzy.

Mervin uses water-cleansed grinding systems to minimize airborne particulate levels.

The Mervin Factory has 2700% air replacement ventilation systems.

All wood sawdust is recycled as soil additive, plus scrap wood is donated to a local Mood Wood company that packages it as kindling and resells it.

All scrap plastics (base cutouts, etc) are recycled and then reground to make new materials.

Water-based solvents used for cleansing (instead of petrochemical-based solvents).

Canola-based biodiesel heats the Mervin factory and is a renewable resource.

1 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 1 year from the time of purchase. Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear expected from aggressive riding.

Sorry folks, but bashing your board on a rock or rail does not qualify as a "manufacturer's defect" and will not be honored.
