The 288s is a refined version of the 288. Inspired by indoor-soccer shoes that's been updated with the kind of burly tech you require in a skate shoe. To start off, New Balance added a seamless one piece toe to reduce stress points and increase durability. Then to improve on impact performance they added a cushy closed cell polyurethane insole. To cap it all off New Balance threw in a crated heel to provide both comfort and support by cupping your heel, something you'll appreciate when kick out on a bigger gap. The end result is a serious skate shoe wrapped in a low profile, casual package.

  • Cupsole
  • One Piece Quarter Panel and Vamp
  • C-Cap® Midsole
  • Ndurance® Rubber Outsole
  • 4-Way Stretch Mesh "Sock-Like" Collar Construction for Comfortable, Secure Fit
  • Breathable Mesh Lined Interior
  • Crating in the Heel for Optimal Impact Protection

Cupsole - Durable and shock-absorbing to provide the best impact protection against hard landings. Cupsoles generally last longer than a vulcanized sole but don't provide as much flexibility and board feel right out of the box.

One Piece Quarter Panel and Vamp - This construction method means no seam obstruction and removes the possibility of blowouts so you can skate these shoes even longer.

C-Cap® Midsole - A compression-molded EVA for superior midsole cushioning and flexibility.

Ndurance® Rubber Outsole - Ndurance® is a highly durable rubber compound that increases the lifespan of this shoe's outsole.

New Balance 288S Skate Shoes
These shoes are a little tight at first but are true to size overall. They quickly break in for a nice form fit, locked in feeling. Only thing is they're a little hard to get on. I wouldn't recommend using the tab I almost ripped one off. Really like how these look and feel overall. They feel like a nice basketball shoe or something. NB# quality construction except for the heel tab thing.
