Overview
The Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski skate shoes were designed by Stefan himself with a focus on keeping it clean, low profile, lightweight and skateable. These editions are updated with higher foxing tape for extra durability and a more distinct look. The flexible vulcanized sole includes a Zoom Air unit in the heel to cushion rough impacts. Herringbone tread provides lasting grip and board control, while perforations along the vamp increase breathability.

Sole

Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. The sole consists of several layers of rubber, glued together then attached to the upper with rubber foxing tape. Vulcanized soles don’t provide as much foot protection or support as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.

Details

Herringbone Tread - The herringbone pattern is frequently used in basketball shoes for its ability to provide optimal traction on smooth surfaces.

Low-Profile Design - Designed for an anatomically correct, contoured fit.

Perforations at Side - The perforations on the side of the shoe allows moisture and heat to escape providing a more comfortable wearing experience.

Zoom Air Unit in Heel - Nike Zoom technology in the heel sockliner for excellent cushioning from large impacts.

Nike Zoom cushioning is incredibly thin and brings the foot closer to the ground for enhanced stability, especially during quick cuts and multi-directional movements.

After impact, the tightly stretched fibers inside the pressurized air unit quickly bounce back into shape, providing a super-responsive feel and improved awareness of the surface you’re on.

Hi-Tape is the New Thing

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski High Tape Skate Shoes - team red/team red-white
I've noticed that Vans and HUF started putting out more hi-tape models recently. Makes sense: more rubber means less wear on the leather means shoes last longer. Also, if you live in the PNW, you can step in slightly deeper puddles without getting wet. The Janoskis are my all-time favorite shoe to skate right out of the box, and I'm always impressed with how long they hold up despite being so low profile. This is my first pair of hi-tapes and I think they look sick. Plus, lots of flick with the extra grip.

Better than the regular jansoki

Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski High Tape Skate Shoes
Wasnt sure about these until I looked at the tactics review. I have a pair of regular jansoki if you wanna call it that compared to these but they are a lot better. They are stylish and the high taper I think looks awesome and comfortable. I like myskate shoes snug and they are just right, not as narrow as I thought they would be. What I like mostly is the high taper around the toe of the shoe is made for skateboarding, long lasting for flip tricks. I would totally get a pair and won't regret buying these
