Patagonia brings you the Insulated Snowshot jacket, built for versatility and spontaneity anywhere on the mountain. Made from a tough 2-layer polyester shell with a DWR finish, this jacket meets Patagonia's H2No® standards for waterproofing, breathability, and durability. Inside the jacket is a moisture-wicking polyester mesh lining that easily slips over your other layers, and a tall collar with water tight zippers help keep the rain and snow from seeping in. Discreet under arm zippers open up to vent out heat when you're climbing or getting overheated. The hood is helmet-compatible with 2-way-adjustments, and a laminated visor optimizes visibility in bad conditions. The powder skirt snaps together for a snug fit but it can snap to the side when you're not using it, and the adjustable hem cables are accessible from the hand pockets. A plethora of pockets keep all of your gadgets secure, and a hidden RECCO® chip will give you a little extra security and peace of mind while you're up on the mountain.
RECCO® - RECCO® is an advanced avalanche rescue system hidden in this outerwear that will save your butt when you need it. RECCO® is utilized by more than 700 rescue organizations worldwide to assist in the efficient location of burials. RECCO® technology enables rapid directional pinpointing of a victim's precise location using harmonic radar. Hopefully you'll never have to use it, but if you do you'll be glad it's there.
Critically Taped - On outerwear with critically taped seams you only have taping at the key points where potential leakage can occur. This is acceptable, or even advantageous if you live in a dry climate, if you're more concerned with breathability than dealing with wet weather then outerwear featuring critically taped seams is the way to go.
Thermogreen® - Lightweight 100% polyester (90% recycled) that stays warm, even when wet.
Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.
Recycled Polyester - Approximately 31% of plastic bottles produced in the United States are made from a material called PolyEthylene Terephtalate, "PET" or "PETE." Usually clear or green, the plastic is mostly used for consumer goods such as soda bottles and food jars, but once recycled and processed, it has a wide variety of eco-friendly applications. While recycling is not the end-all, be-all solution for ridding the world of the plastic bag beast, it is a sustainable path for plastic products and takes less energy to produce than traditional polyester.
bluesign® Approved - Patagonia has worked with the independent bluesign standard since 2000 to evaluate and reduce resource consumption and to screen raw materials, including dyes and finishes used in Patagonia's supply chain.
bluesign technologies, based in Switzerland, audits the energy, water and chemical usage of its members and helps them achieve continuous, long-term environmental improvement.
H2No® Performance Standard - H2No Performance Standard is Patagonia’s benchmark for waterproof, breathability and durability, which ensures a high level of long-term performance backed by their Ironclad Guarantee. H2No Performance Standard products undergo the most rigorous testing in the industry. The H2No Performance Standard for waterproof shell garments is 20,000mm before, and 10,000mm after their Killer Wash test (per JIS L 1092 B).
Chafe Free Collar - Extra soft tricot liner to protect your face.
Jacket to Pant Interface - Connect your jacket to your pants for better protection from the elements.
DWR Coating - A Durable Water Resistant finish applied to the exterior of the garment.
