After a decade long break, Ray-Ban has re-released the Original Wayfarer RB 2140 sunglasses. Made to the exact proportions and materials as the original launched in 1952. You probably recognize these iconic sunglasses.
They were featured in many classic films. Stars like Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Jim Belushi and Dan Akroyd in The Blues Brothers, or Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Basically, there really is nothing like the real thing... this is it.
100% UVA/UVB Protection - These lenses provide complete protection from the harsh rays of the sun.
Gradient Lenses - Gradient lenses are characterized by a smooth transition from a solid color to a transparent shade of the same or different color.
G-15 Technology - By absorbing 85% of visible light and blocking out most blue light, G-15 lenses ensure better clarity and remarkable color contrast, providing a more natural vision.
Impact Resistant - Ray-Ban lenses are 2x more resistant to impacts than the industry standard. All Ray-Ban lenses are tested to withstand the impact of a steel ball dropped from 1.27 meters.
Scratch Resistant - Ray-Ban lenses are tested to withstand 500 grams of a special abrasive sand oscillating for 600 cycles. Compared to the most commonly prescribed lenses (CR-39), Ray-Ban lenses are 12 times more resistant to scratching than the industry standard.
Element Proof - All Ray-Ban lenses must undergo 120 hours of exposure to UV light, moisture, heat, organic solvents, sea salt and sweat acidity, without exhibiting any visible change in the color or surface of the lens.
These measurements include the diameter of the lens, the width of the bridge and the length of the arms in that order.
