Overview

The Spitfire 80HD Chargers Conical skateboard wheels are shaped for quicker response in a performance urethane formula that's soft and smooth. Spitfire's 80HD formula prevents unwanted flex that occurs in other wheels of the same durometer. Essentially these wheels won't flex like most soft wheels, giving you the best of both worlds and a crazy smooth ride.

Wheel Profile

Wide - More traction and stability at high speed so you'll be less likely to slip out of your line.

Durometer

80a - Versatile wheels meant for pushing, curb-slapping, mellow hill-bombing and sliding. These wheels roll smooth and steady.

Surface Type

Standard - Standard wheels feature a smooth surface which is the go-to for a fast, steady roll.

Key Features

80HD - These 80HDs are an exclusive 80 durometer high density speed urethane that cuts out unwanted wheel flex usually found in other soft wheels. These things are fast, soft and out of control.

Perfect size, perfect hardness

Spitfire 80HD Chargers Conical Skateboard Wheels
Needed to replace a 52mm cruiser wheel (lesson learned, you NEVER get anywhere far with those) and the obvious choice was to size up without having to add risers to the current build like some 55/56's force you to. Also didn't want a ditch wheel hardness (86+) that'll defeat the purpose of smooth cruising, so I thought the "improved" 80a formula would be perfect in-between and boy does this deliver!
Definitely harder than most 80a varieties, but still soft enough for craggy streets but without the squish for more roll speed. I don't know what Spitfire did, but this formula is pure GENIUS. If I had a ton of money, I'd buy a box of these.

If you want to skate around campus without looking like a tool on longboard wheels, these are for you. If you want sidewalk skating to feel like you're at the park, these are for you. Smooth and fast wheels. Will buy again when these are worn!

Spitfire 80HD Chargers Conical Skateboard Wheels - fire red (80d)
Broken 5th metatarsal = needed softer wheels to skate anyway. Couldn’t use foot to push, but these wheels softened the carving around the park.

So I bought the 56mm to skate parks and street, I did not realize they were softer wheels, anyone know if this will hinder grinding or powersliding, by just looking at them it looks like I will not be able to powersliding, which is disappointing
Answered by Graig A (Tactics Employee) on 12/7/2017
These are softer wheels and will be hard to powerslide on and will wear the wheel down quickly. They should be ok grinding but you would have trouble doing slides.
