In 1999, Geoff Rowley introduced a whole new generation of skaters to vulcanized footwear and the performance benefits of a shoe built from the ground up to improve grip, comfort and durability on the board. 20 years later and that same progression and innovation continues to be a driving force in Pro Skate footwear at Vans. The Rowley RapidWeld Pro is built from the ground up to answer yesterday’s needs with today's product and manufacturing capabilities. Built to skate, built to perform and built to outlast them all. The colorways of this limited product are influenced by a pair of charcoal grey Natives Geoff owned as a young skate rat. Having purchased odd sizes in different boxes for 5 pounds (extremely cheap, even back then!) at the local skate shop, Geoff went on to get his first ever cover of a skate magazine in that same pair.

Cupsole - Durable and shock-absorbing to provide the best impact protection against hard landings. Cupsoles generally last longer than a vulcanized sole but don't provide as much flexibility and board feel right out of the box.
Original Waffle Outsole - Made with soles twice as thick so they would wear longer, this original formula combines durability with flexy board-feel to keep all the Vans' fans happy.
Wafflecup™ Construction - A vulcanized cupsole? YES. This revolutionary construction offers skaters the support of a cupsole with the board feel of a vulcanized shoe.
LuxLiner Bootie Construction - This advanced liner construction improves the comfort and fit by enabling the shoe to conform and move with the shape of the foot. This free-floating liner is an extension of the tongue. It's hidden under the front surface of the shoe and is able to move independently from the outer shell.
This system increases airflow, breathability and reduces any chance of hot spots or pinching in the toe box.
Duracap - Developed and tested to withstand the abuse of the Vans pro skateboarding team; reinforcement is provided through rubber underlays in the toebox and ollie-area for lasting durability to save you time and money.
RapidWeld - This progressive upper panel construction replaces the need for conventional stitching. This process utilizes a thin film between panels that bonds them together when pressed and heated.
This creates an extremely strong bond between the panels which is more durable, lighterweight, and more flexible than conventional stitching.
OTW Tread Pattern - This OTW traditional tread pattern ties back to the Vans heritage.
UltraCush™ HD - Vans' polyurethane-based UltraCush™ HD sockliner keeps the foot close to the board yet won't pack out over time, providing the highest level of impact cushioning.
Go up a half size if your feet are a little wide.
