The Shadow Insulated Jacket has everything you need to keep you dry, warm, and fashionable this winter season. A V-Science 2-layer shell provides 15k of waterproofing and breathability, while Low-Loft insulation keeps you nice and toasty. This jacket isn't lacking anything, including convenience, with plenty of pockets to stash all your gadgets and goods. Volcom thought of everything with this one, even mesh lined zippered vents to let out extra heat, and a jacket-to-pant interface that allows you to zip the jacket to any compatible Volcom pants to seal out the cold and deter stray powder.
Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.
Low-Loft Synthetic - Low-loft insulation provides warmth without losing versatility. Because low-loft insulation is made of synthetic fibers it maintains much of its insulating ability even when wet. A lower loft rating means it won't keep you as warm as jackets with high loft but it's more versatile and dries more quickly than traditional down.
Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.
Zip Tech® Jacket to Pant Interface - Nothing lowers motivation faster than snow jammed down your pants and up the back of your jacket. A V-Co patented invention Zip Tech® allows you to zip the powder skirt of any Volcom jacket to any Volcom pant, keeping snow out and heat in with no restriction of movement.
