This snowboard-inspired drop through is great for relaxed commutes to school or work, and mellow downhill. A camber profile and slightly concaved deck helps this complete carve with ease while still taking on steeper hills. Tthis deck is made with 8 plies of hardrock maple and a finish ply of Black Walnut, all of which are sustainably sourced. Walnut wood is naturally dense and helps provide a durable top layer below your feet, adding stability to the ride.

This complete comes equipped with Paris 50° 180mm trucks, Arbor 70mm 78a Outlook wheels, ABEC 5 Bearings, and Lucid (clear) Grip. A weapon of choice for long commutes that can also attack hills, the Arbor Axis Walnut is a complete package.

Commuting - Commuter boards cover a wide range. Whether you're cruising to the store on a beverage run or crossing from suburbs to downtown and back on the daily, commuting boards are made to make your life a litter easier and a lot more fun.

Shorter boards in this category make up the cruising department. Some have functional kicktails, but they're still made to fit large wheels so you won't get hung up on any rocks. Some are even small enough they can fit in lockers or under a work desk.

Longer boards are made for distance skaters. With features like rocker, flex, and anything to lower your center of gravity, commuting boards make skating feel like you have your own cloud underfoot. These boards are really great for beginners and experienced riders alike.

Never make the boring mistake of walking again, get your commute on.

Carve & Pintail - Deep carves, boardwalk cruising, and mellow hills are calling you. This is the traditional Californian longboard and is still relevant today. You'll find the longest wheelbases in this category meant for big turns and a large surface area for dancing.

Mounting Style

Drop Through - Drop Through boards lower your center of gravity, giving you a more responsive and stable ride. Trucks are mounted through the board and truck bases will sit either flush or slightly above the deck surface. Great for high speed assaults or even cruising around town to your local watering hole.

Note: If assembling yourself, you'll first need to remove your longboard truck hanger from its base by unscrewing the kingpin. Once separated, reassemble the trucks through the mounting area (sandwiching the board between the hanger/base of the truck), then tighten the kingpin nuts and you're ready to roll.

Deck Profile

Camber - Camber gives you a charged feeling underfoot and better leverage for turns. Camber boards can feel a bit more like a spring at first, but any rider will appreciate how this makes the board responsive. Camber boards are especially fun for commuter decks, freestyle, and cruisers where you'll be carving a lot.

Deck Shape

Symmetrical - Symmetrical boards are ideal for freeride and freestyle. The freeride pros will tell you that figuring out how to come out of a slide switch is not an easy task and having a symmetrical deck underfoot will help you speed through the learning curve to the top of the class. Freestyle skaters love their double kicks and reliable symmetrical boards to land flip tricks. So if these pursuits sound like your style, check out symmetrical boards.

Deck Features

Cutouts - With big wheels you need lots of room to carve and dig into turns, cutouts around the wheels provide the extra space required to prevent wheelbite while cutouts for your trucks appear on drop through decks so you can ride closer to the ground.

Mild Concave - With the right concave underfoot you'll feel you can skate anything. Concavity can be seen if you look at a board straight down the nose to the tail. Mild concave shows as a slight rise towards the edges of the deck giving your feet plenty of places to lock in. Choosing the right concave can be tough because it's all personal preference, but you can't go wrong if you don't already have a preference.

Deck Construction

8-Ply Maple + Walnut Construction - Made with 8 plies of hardrock maple and a finish ply of Black Walnut, all of which are sustainably sourced. Walnut wood is naturally dense and helps provide a durable top layer below your feet.

Paris 150mm Trucks - The Paris 150mm trucks are your go-to carving truck with 90a Divine bushings. If you're looking to cut some serious turns and get your carve on, then these babies are for you. Like all Paris Trucks, the baseplate angle is 50°, which provides the perfect balance between stability and maneuverability. The 150mm hanger allows for quicker turning and greater leverage when compared to a wider hanger.

ABEC 5 Bearings - ABEC 5 bearings give you a smooth, long-lasting silky glide, so you can keep rollin' with minimal resistance.

All Arbor Wheels are made from an environmentally friendly sucrose-based, bio-urethane formula that reduces Arbor's reliance on harmful synthetic materials, without sacrificing an ounce of performance.

70mm (78a) Outlook Wheels - Centerset cruiser wheels that are ready to roll. At 70mm tall, these wheels are great for carving, cruising, pushing and commuting while maintaining a high roll speed smooth feel.

Wood By-Product Use - All wood by-products created during the production of Arbor skateboards are reclaimed for use in other Arbor products, or by outside companies. This allows Arbor to stretch an important resource, while helping to reduce the strain on landfills and forest land.

Water Based Finishes - All Arbor skateboards are produced using a water-based sanding sealer and final finish to avoid air pollution.

Arbor Axis Walnut 40" Complete Longboard 2016
I love the board. You can just feel the quality of the wood as well as the quality of the trucks and wheels. The bearings arent as smooth as i wanted them to be but im just gonna let them break in for now until i have enough for bones reds

Arbor Axis Walnut 40" Complete Longboard - black trucks / blue wheels
I bought this Item and i put in the wrong Address for UPS. So then i went through a very long process of trying to change location of arrival. Such BULLSHIT. Its still at the other house. Im gonna give it a 4 because of shipping issues that are unrelated to the website. Overall its probably a good longboard and good price.

Arbor Axis Walnut 40" Complete Longboard - black trucks / blue wheels
Overall a great board and it looks great. It definitely leans more towards cruising and carving than anything else. Since there isn't much concave and the clear spray on grip tape is decent for basic riding. But I'm starting to ride a little more aggressively and bombing some Hills and I can see some wear already so I'm wondering if I'll need to reapply some grip later. The wheels, bearings, trucks are alright. I kinda wish I would have bought the deck then brought everything else because I've already bought upgrades I would have saved a little. But a good board! Looks super cool! I got black trucks and turquoise cloud ride wheels I'm always getting compliments on my board!

Arbor Axis Walnut 40" Complete Longboard
Overall a great board right out of the box, carves well and allows for smooth riding over any surface. Summit wheels allow the board to go farther and faster, but be aware that I will be hard to put any other grip tape over the glass grip on the walnut. But so far it has lasted quite long with quality grip. It also has a very fresh design.

can this board still be popped up even with its questionable kick-tails
Answered by Graig A (Tactics Employee) on 8/10/2017
This board has no kicktail and has very little board after the truck. It would be very difficult to pop this board up.
