I use it everyday for school. It's very lightweight and the shoulder pads are broad enough that makes it seem like I am not carrying like 4 books in there. As a personal preference I would have enjoyed a few more pockets though or at least making the ones it has more deeper. But over all it is a very awesome backpack.

Good functional backpack if you don't carry a whole lot for college. I try to e-book everything so I only carry my iPad (for my digital books and digital notes), spiral notebook with tear-out sheets for written turn-in assignments and a few essentials like pens/pencils and a stylus. There's room for my MacBook Air should I need to carry it, power adapters (for the laptop, iPad, and iPhone), and my lab coat.

The insulated front pocket is useless for me as it doesn't have much room to carry anything other than a simple sandwich. I just use to for carrying other small items.

The middle pocket carries just enough for me, a pen, a pencil, a stylus, my response clicker and replacement batteries. I can squeeze in my smaller power adapters here too, out of the pockets.

I love the two mesh pockets on the side and use one for a water bottle and the other to carry an umbrella for rain or heat (Houston's weather is extremely unpredictable). They're deep enough to carry both without them falling out.

The little upper pocket is okay though I don't use it for sunglasses/iPod like it's intention is. It gives easy access to my wallet and headphones, though. However, there are times that I confuse the main compartment zippers with this one.

I'm a small person and this was functionally perfect for me. I just wished that the design was a little more aesthetically appealing. I didn't like the huge logo on the back of the bag either, as I think it's a bit tacky, though, no one will really see it until I take the bag off. Better, more appealing designs with most of the great functions it already has would have made me really happy about this bag.

My second purchase of Dakine backpacks and as before I am delighted with it! My last purchase was 3 years ago and both bags are still in "like new" condition after enduring daily abuse on school buses, field trips, in and out of lockers, trunks, and the back of a truck. They show virtually no wear! The value of durability coupled with style and utility features makes the decision to buy a no brainer. I've spent about $30 a year for backpacks from department stores. Dakine packs average about $45-$65 and last 3-4 times longer...the value speaks volumes!

I am really enjoying using this bag on my Disney trip. It's a perfect size for our family of 3. The only complaint I have about it is that the straps are really long after I adjust it to fit me. Should come up with a way to tie them up. It's a great durable bag, made very well.
