Northwest Jam – What’s New For 2015
In year two of Northwest Jam, Tactics is inviting a heavy crew of west coast shredders to vie for $8,500 in cash. Our deep field will combine many of last year’s top qualifiers and finalists, including Dalton Dern, Zion Ofriel, Aniken Senn, Jake Selover and Nick Peterson, plus a heavy dose of west coast pro-ams like Kevin Kowolski, Mason Merlino, Frank Shaw, Steven Reeves, Cody Lockwood and others.*

If you missed David Lobasyuk’s dramatic last-second $1,000 Best Trick win last year, check it out. This year our event skaters will again huck themselves off the stair set in an attempt to land the $1,000 banger. Check it out right after our bowl finals. (Due to legal/liability complications, best trick will be limited to Northwest Jam participants only. We will try to work out a waiver system for 2016 to allow anyone to jump in. Sorry for the last-minute change, but hey, lawyers.)

Northwest Jam Recap
Tactics, in partnership with Nike SB, Volcom and Independent, is stoked to bring large-scale competitive skateboarding back to the Willamette Valley. Our inaugural Northwest Jam was a huge success. We’re going even bigger in 2015, with bigger names in west coast skateboarding and fatter cash prizes.

Skaters will compete in a “survive & advance” format with runs in both the bowl and street sections of WJ Skatepark. Our top-12 qualifiers will do it all over again with the winners taking home cash, prizes and podium bragging rights. We’ll cap the day with a winner-takes-all $1,000 best trick contest.

Here’s everything you need to know about Northwest Jam ’15.

● Entries will be capped at 60 skaters. Entry is FREE for invited skaters and Northwest Jam qualifiers (thank our sponsors for their support).

● The competition format will emphasize the versatility of Eugene’s WJ Skatepark — 23,000 square feet of concrete, coping, rock, brick and metal. The park is transition heavy, but does offer some street features. Skaters will be judged not only on their skill and style, but also their versatility throughout the various sections of the park. The unique “ribbon” section will be in play! For more about the competition course and our best trick area, check out our WJ Skatepark info.

● All skaters will receive a Northwest jam t-shirt, various free stuff from Tactics and other sponsors, plus free admission into the After Party at Level Up Arcade & Bar in Eugene (8 p.m. to 1 a.m. the night of the event).

● Discount hotel rates are available for competition participants.
