Vans Gilbert Crockett Pro Skate Shoes - blue/white/gum
Feel good. Seem slightly bigger Vans shoe than my other Vans. Use 8.5 size, maybe maybe maybe fit a 8...not sure. Anyway, happy.

Vans Gilbert Crockett Pro Skate Shoes - black/rubber
They've been holding up well so far. I've been skating in them about every other day for the last three weeks and there's only minor cosmetic abrasions around the typical hotspots (ynno, the flick/slide area around the pinky toes). The suede seems real tough and the soles are still in great shape.

I liked the AVE's a bit better because they were a little more padded. I skated the AVE's forever too. They're shredded now but they took a lot of abuse thru the duration of 2013. Longevity will be the deciding factor between the two. They both have incredible board feel and they both look super dope. The Crockett's have that classic Vans look to em, but if you lace your shoes even slightly on the tight side, they tend to look a bit like soccer shoes. I think that's cool, some may not. Just a heads up.

The only downside to these shoes is that the tongues won't stay up. There's no anchor for them and theres no loop for the laces to go thru, so they tend to sag off to the sides and get sucked down into the shoe. It doesn't affect the performance or comfort at all, I just wish they'd stay up for the style points.
