The Burton Freestyle snowboard bindings are designed for up-and-comers looking to progress their skills and compete with the big boys. The softer feel comes courtesy of Re:Flex tech in the baseplate that allows the bindings to evenly flex and attach to all major mounting systems.

After a full day on the snow, a strap that's biting you can take its toll. Burton addressed this issue by adding plush FullBED Cushioning in the straps to keep you lapping in comfort. Strapping in can also be a time waster. Newly introduced Flex Sliders speed up strap-in with an innovative hinge design that allows the heel strap to flex and fall fully open. The Freestyle comes priced for the rookie on a budget and has been a bestseller for more than two decades.

Ride Style

Park/Freestyle - Designed for park riding and for getting your tricks dialed in - from butter boxes to urban rails to your favorite park booters. These bindings generally have softer base flexes and mellow highbacks for better mobility when getting your tweak game on.

Beginner/Casual Riding - These bindings are designed for casual carving on mellow groomers for an easier, more relaxing ride. Great for beginners to intermediate or those just wanting to cruise around and have a no-worries good time on the hill.

Flex Rating

SoftStiff - Very Soft Flex - extremely mellow, playful flex good for smaller riders, jibbing the park, casual riding, or for those just starting out

Key Features

Re:Flex Baseplate - With a minimized, cored baseplate and Living Hinge disc, RE:Flex dramatically improves board flex and feel, reduces weight, and opens the doors for all sorts of cushioning options.

Re:Flex increases board flex and feel by a whopping 71% for more natural taste and texture than that of traditional disc bindings, all in a package that's compatible with any platter, including 4-Hole insert patterns, Burton 3D hole patterns and the latest generation of The Channel.

The minimized, cored baseplate reduces weight by 20%, while a Living Hinge disc delivers heaps of flex and allows for all sorts of cushioned toppings.

Flex Slider Ankle Strap Hinge - The Flex Slider makes strapping-in a breeze, thanks to a stretched hinging zone that allows the ankle strap to flex and fall fully open and out of the way of your boot. Easy in, easy out.

The Flex Slider is also stronger and worthy of Burton's Lifetime Warranty.

Lifetime Warranty (Limited, See Details) - Covered under manufacturer lifetime guarantee against breakage of the baseplate or heelcup along with defects in materials or workmanship. This lifetime warranty DOES NOT cover broken bindings due to abuse or neglect, damage caused by any modification done outside the manufacturer's facility, or lost parts due to lack of hardware maintenance.

Burton's Flex Slider hinged strap IS covered under their Lifetime Warranty.

Highbacks, other straps, ratchets and other binding components are not included under lifetime warranty.

Ultra-Minimized Hi-Back - Designed super lightweight for versatile high-performance without losing comfort or shredability.

Zero Forward Lean Hi-Back - Riders who prefer a more playful and relaxed feel will dig the new Zero Forward Lean design on select hi-backs. As always, you can still choose to crank 'em forward for quicker control when carving or climbing icy pipe walls.

MicroFLAD Forward Lean Adjuster - The higher the forward lean angle on your Hi-Backs, the quicker your heel-edge turns. Crank 'em forward for icy hits in the pipe like Danny does, or back 'em off for jibbing like Keegan.

MicroFLAD features mind-blowing, tool-free, micro-adjustability for even easier adjusting than the FLAD.

Lushstrap Ankle Strap - Lushstrap Construction has a 3D curve with a Triple Axis Spine and EVA Padding for a snug, contoured fit.

Adaptastrap Toe Strap - Conformable from Capstrap™ to Toe Strap for easy-switch action and comfort.

Smooth Glide Buckles - Polished, chrome-plated aluminum and lightweight polycarbonate levers give you season after season of buttery smooth and reliable ratcheting power. Designed and built by Burton, not some shady supplier.

Single Component Base Construction - One material throughout creates consistent response and feel for all-terrain domination.

Polycarbonate Base: Lightweight & Bombproof - Strong, light, buttery and playful for laid-back and relaxed cruising.

Why No Metal? - Why No Metal? Burton refuses to ride metal because it's too rigid, too heavy, and too likely to bend and distort. Instead, Burton crafts their bindings out of a variety of materials, each engineered to satisfy specific riding styles.

FullBED Cushioning System - FullBED baseplate cushioning offers a full coverage, cushioned platform that maximizes comfort while minimizing fatigue. Anchored to the baseplate at the heel, its stealth trap door design lifts at the heel on Disc bindings and on the toe on Re:Flex bindings, making it easy to access the mounting hardware.

Snowboard Compatibility

4-Hole Inserts - This binding is compatible with any standard 4-hole pattern snowboard. 4-hole patterns are currently the most common snowboard mounting type and are typically spaced 4cm vertically by 4cm across (4x4 inserts) or spaced 2cm vertically by 4cm across (2x4 inserts) for more stance width options.

Burton Channel - This binding is compatible with any Burton Channel M6 Snowboard built in 2011 or after. The Channel M6 is an exclusive Burton mounting system using a central spine for virtually endless binding adjustability.

Redesigned in the 2011 season, Burton has widened The Channel along with equipping it with the industry standard M6 hardware for enhanced connection to your snowboard and further compatibility. The Channel M6 allows you to micro-adjust stance width, angle, and toe-to-heel centering with ease while at the same time dispersing energy for added rebound and snap.

Burton 3D Inserts - This binding is compatible with any Burton 3D Hole Pattern snowboard, which is a diamond shape 3-hole pattern exclusive to Burton snowboards.

Burton Freestyle Snowboard Bindings
I purchased the 2016 version to go on a Burton Clash. So far the flex seems to be spot on for that board, which is really what you want in a binding. Straps ratchet and release smoothly. Great bang for the buck!
