Patagonia brings you the Departer jacket, built for good times on the mountain, no matter the condition. Made from tough, bluesign® approved 2-layer GORE-TEX® fabric with a DWR finish, this jacket is durable, waterproof, breathable, and windproof. Inside the jacket is a moisture-wicking polyester mesh lining that easily slips over your other layers, and a tall collar with water tight zippers helps keep the rain and snow from seeping in. Discreet under arm zippers open up to vent out heat when you're climbing or getting overheated. The hood is helmet-compatible with 2-way-adjustments, and a laminated visor optimizes visibility in bad conditions. The powder skirt snaps together for a snug fit but it can snap to the side when you're not using it, and the adjustable hem cables are accessible from the hand pockets.

GORE-TEX® - GORE-TEX® fabric is incredibly durable, waterproof, breathable, and totally windproof. A single square inch of this fabric contains 9 billion microscopic pores—each 20,000 times smaller than a raindrop, but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapor. Water can’t pass through the fabric, yet perspiration escapes with ease. You’ll find this next level molecular construction on all GORE-TEX fabrics.
RECCO® - RECCO® is an advanced avalanche rescue system hidden in this outerwear that will save your butt when you need it. RECCO® is utilized by more than 700 rescue organizations worldwide to assist in the efficient location of burials. RECCO® technology enables rapid directional pinpointing of a victim's precise location using harmonic radar. Hopefully you'll never have to use it, but if you do you'll be glad it's there.
Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.
bluesign® Approved - Since 2000, Patagonia has been working with bluesign® to evaluate and reduce resource consumption in the material supply chain.
bluesign® offers the highest level of consumer safety employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.
Recycled Polyester - There are over 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris floating in the oceans. Recycled polyester won't fix that but this is better for the Earth than creating virgin polyester for products.
Jacket to Pant Interface - Connect your jacket to your pants for better protection from the elements.
