In 1999, Tactics started from the ground up providing local skate and snowboarders with all the gear they needed. Just like our start, when it comes to snowboarding gear you should start from the bottom.
Having the right snowboard boots can make or break your riding experience. Taking the time to try on many different boots is the best way to go, and with our three shop locations and 60-day return policy you can do just that. Don’t settle for what’s convenient, shop the top boots at Tactics.
From men’s and women’s boots, to children’s sizes, we have boots stocked up in a variety of different styles and brands that you know and trust, like Burton, Vans and Thirtytwo, among tons of others.
Choosing a brand that you like is great, but sometimes you find exactly what you’re looking for in a boot from a different company. The biggest factor when buying snowboard boots is finding a pair that suits your needs. Just like boards, snowboard boots are typically broken down into three categories; park, freeride and all-mountain. Park boots will be extremely flexible, giving you all the feel you’ll need to be comfortable doing tricks, and they pair well with soft park boards. Freeride boots usually stay on the stiffer side, providing excellent maneuverability at high speeds. All-mountain boots will be the most versatile choice for riders who do a little bit of everything.
Your options don’t stop at the type of riding you plan to do with your boots. Lacing systems will be something to consider while selecting your perfect boots. Many come with a traditional lace, just as a shoe or work boot would. They’re familiar and user-friendly. If you want boots that are even easier to lace up, check out boots with a BOA® closure system. These feature a ratcheting dial, or two, that you spin to tighten your boots to your liking, making on-the-fly adjustments a snap. If neither of those options fit your style, you can find boots with a speed lacing system. Boots from Burton and others use what looks like a standard lace, but instead of tying the lace, you simply pull the ends to cinch it tight and then tuck the ends of the laces in their holder.
With so many options, you’re sure to find the right pair of snowboard boots that’ll keep you comfortable and stoked on the mountain all season long! For more information on boots and other gear, contact our customer service team, or stop by our shop locations.
