Yaaasss, a legit Asym twin setup for the lady shredders! Built for the mid skill level with a low cost to you, the Proto Type Two is pushing the envelope and will help you do the same this winter thanks to the Ripsaw profile which has cleverly placed fiberglass and camber under your feet. You'll be popping higher ollies than ever before. The RDS2 damping system, sintered P-tex sidewalls and a Power Grip sidecut are going to give give you the upper hand when it comes to traction on the ice and and speed. An interesting feature on this setup, this board has a low-profile tip and tail with an extended transition, which translates to turns that are easier to initiate and a more consistent board feel throughout.
But, as mentioned before, deeper heelside cuts in this asymmetrical shape make this board so natural to ride switch and to carve on your heelside edge you'll be stoked on this all mountain board all winter long. In general, Never Summer is moving the mark for technology incorporated in the women's board lineup so if you want all the latest tech., check out all the impressive details below.
Ripsaw Rocker Camber Profile - The Ripsaw Profile features amplified camber with the same amount of rocker as Never Summer's popular Rocker Camber profile – using camber for control and pop while still maintaining some of the playfulness and float of rocker. Enhancing the camber even further for the Ripsaw Profile, Never Summer gives you more stability, power and precision for those on the charge.
Vario Power Grip Sidecut - The Vario Power Grip sidecut works perfectly with Never Summer's R.C. Rocker/Camber Technology by adding increased edgehold precisely where it's needed most; from 2 inches outside of each binding and inward towards the center of the board, providing added control and response in any condition.
Damping Rating: Mid - "Mid" rating on the Never Summer damping scale - playful and snappy underfoot but still retains some smoothness at higher speeds.
Damping Ratings = Snappy, Mid, Smooth or Cushy
3 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 3 years from the time of purchase! Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear expected from aggressive riding.
Sorry folks, but bashing your board on a rock or rail does not qualify as a "manufacturer's defect" and will not be honored.
NS Superlight Wood Core - Taking their Custom Flight Core even further, Never Summer's Superlight Wood Core blends extremely light wood with durable hardwood for unmatched strength to weight ratio.
Bi-Lite Fiberglass - Bi-Lite fiberglass combines many of the strength characteristics of STS Advanced fiberglass with an ultra light glass fiber matrix. This delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.
Carbon Max Laminate Technology - A lot of energy can be lost from the time your brain signals fire to the time your board actually leaves the ground. Mostly, energy goes into the board and gets stuck there. However, this laminate tech. combines a top and bottom carbon makeup that allows the energy to continue so you get the most response possible while at the same time allowing enough torsional flex to keep you in control.
RDS 2 Rubber Damping System - This lightweight system uses three narrower laminated damping layers that provide the perfect combinations of vibration absorption and stability.
Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers - Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers are rubber pads directly below the mounting area that provide optimum vibration absorption and increase high speed stability while reducing foot fatigue.
Harmonic Tip & Tail Damper - Harmonic dampers in tip and tail take out a large percentage of residual vibration by quieting the nose and tail. This enhances stability at speed in variable snow conditions and on hard landings without deadening the liveliness and pop of the cambered areas.
Perforated Rocker Pad - Perforated to reduce weight, these thin elastomeric pads are strategically located in the midsection of the board to absorb vibrations between the feet.
Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base - Crown Plastics has developed an exclusive, super fast, durable sintered base. Just the right amount of graphite has been added, making the Durasurf 5501 XT base the fastest they've ever made.
Low-Profile Tip & Tail - A low profile in the nose and tail of the snowboard maximizes material contact with the snow for more powerful ollie/nollie pop and adds stability to your landings. LPT also reduces the plowing effect in the nose for better glide to the next feature and superior float when it’s deep.
Sintered P-Tex Sidewalls - Never Summer was the first snowboard company to use and perfect Sintered P-Tex Sidewalls and they've never seen one crack. Unlike conventional ABS sidewalls that have a tendency to crack in colder temperatures, Sintered P-Tex Sidewalls maintain their integrity at any temperature.
TruGrit Topsheet - This topsheet acts as a built in stomp pad. It's scratch resistant, and looks pretty awesome as well.
Extended Transition Area - A flat section on the outside of the feet that helps initiate turning, float, and delivers an overall increased consistency in board-feel.
