These may look like a pair of iconic Adidas basketball shoes, but looks can be deceiving. These have been adapted to excel in skateboarding thanks to the adiPRENE drop-in sockliner and midsole, by combining these into one piece you get less weight and bulk without sacrificing impact protection. Then to sweeten the deal further, Adidas gave the Pro Model Vulcs their Vector Traction outsole to add serious grip and control.
Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. The sole consists of several layers of rubber, glued together then attached to the upper with rubber foxing tape. Vulcanized soles don’t provide as much foot protection or support as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.
ADIPRENE® - ADIPRENE® is soft EVA injected cushioning placed under the heel to soak up impacts and soften landings.
Rubber Toe Cap - Rubber on the toe cap works to lengthen the life of these shoes by protecting them from board flick.
Vector Traction Outsole and Grippy Tread Design - This Adidas innovation increases board feel, something you definitely can't get enough of when it comes to skating.
