Etnies brings you Chris Joslin's first pro model shoe. Chris designed these shoes to withstand the abuse of skateboarding day in and day out. These shoes feature the Michelin outsoles which last three times longer than standard skate shoe soles. Underneath the durable single piece toe is a hidden toe cap that goes from the toe box, all the way past the ollie area, ensuring a long life of the shoe. These shoes are just like Chris Joslin's skating, unstoppable.

Hidden Toe Cap
  • A toe cap hidden under the upper material extends from the toe box all the way through the ollie area, giving you maximum durability and longevity even after wearing through the upper material.
Primary Upper Materials
  • Suede
  • Pro Foam 1 Insole
  • One Piece Toe
  • Michelin Outsole Technology
  • STI Evolution™ Foam
  • Padded Collar And Tongue
  • Inset Eyelets For Lace Protection

Cupsole - Cupsoles are durable, well-cushioned and provide the best impact protection against hard landings. The sole consists of a single rubber layer, reinforced with glue then stitched to the upper. Cupsoles generally last longer than vulcanized soles, but don't provide as much flexibility and board feel right out of the box.

Pro Foam 1 Insole - Pro Foam is the next step up from the Foam Lite insole and provides added cushioning and support while skating. These PU foam based insoles also provide great comfort. Pro Foam 1 is made of single density PU foam.

One Piece Toe - A one piece toe allows the upper material to wear evenly, without worrying about blowing out a seam

Michelin Outsole Technology - Using a custom formula from Michelin tire manufacturer, this outsole lasts three times longer than a standard outsole without sacrificing grip or boardfeel.

STI Evolution™ Foam - STI Evolution™ Foam replaces EVA, PU, and heavy rubber with a durable, impact resistant, and ultra lightweight cushioning foam that can be used as a single solution for the midsole and outsole of skate shoes.

Etnies Joslin Skate Shoes - black/gum
I like these a lot. I probably should have gotten a half-size larger as these seem to run narrow. My normal shoe width is medium.

Etnies Joslin Skate Shoes
These are definitely a higher quality version of a 2000s puffy shoe. So if you miss the old school kicks, these are right up your alley. They really do feel like a nice comfy pillow that hugs your foot like Joslin says in the wear test. Probably the most comfortable skate shoe I've ever worn. The boardfeel is surprisingly good, too, for a shoe geared towards impact protection. When you see/feel the shoe in person, it is well worth the $80. Despite the basic design, this is a high end tech show at heart. Not a run of the mill disposable skate slipper for $60. Props to Etnies and Joslin for taking a risk on this show and making something different from everything else on the market. For those that skated the Emerica Herman G6 cupsole model, this shoe kinda looks and feels similar to that, but with firmer padding... like a memory foam pillow.
