The Apollo is an expert level freeride binding featuring NOW's Skate Tech Baseplate and a super light and stiff Carbon Flax highback. This exclusive highback design blends the Eco-friendly performance of Flax with the lightweight, torsional stiffness of Carbon for ultimate response and acute precision. Jones gives you two different types of bushings to swap out, allowing you to switch between Surf Mode, for a softer, more playful ride, and Freeride Mode for maximum response. Asymmetrical Flip It Straps, 3D Toe Straps and a Flushcup Heelcup design keep your boots locked in tight for max control without sacrificing comfort, and the Skate Tech baseplate transfers energy straight to the edges of your board which helps reduce leg fatigue because less work goes a lot further. If you like technical freeriding and high speed carving and you want a binding that really makes a statement, you can't beat the Jones Apollo.
Skate-Tech Baseplate Design - NOW's Skate Tech system mimics the function of skateboard trucks. The ‘Hanger' powerfully transfers energy input from the straps to the bushings and onto the edges of your board. The 'Kingpin' acts as a fulcrum, magnifying this energy through leverage.
Traditional bindings diminish energy transfer by flexing and bending the baseplate, forcing you to crank your straps down harder, ride with more forward lean, or run taller and stiffer highbacks. This all leads to more foot fatigue and pain. NOW bindings bypass the middle of the snowboard and direct your energy right onto the board's edges. NOW bindings transfer more power to the board with less work, meaning your feet will stay more relaxed and comfortable, longer.
Hanger 2.0 Baseplate (Wider Heelcup) - The Hanger 2.0 offers a wider heelcup footprint for better boot compatibility. A drop-down medial wall was added for lateral flexibility, while the addition of snow-clearing channels prevents ice buildup underneath the highback legs.
- Made with 30% glass filled Nylon for weight-savings without sacrificing strength.
- I-beam wall sections are both rigid and light.
- Baseless design allows for uninterrupted board flex.
- Allows for easy energy transfer to the board’s edges.
Flip It Straps - Flip It ankle strap can be worn in a freestyle setting with the added support over the top of your instep. Or, switch it up to Freeride mode by flipping the strap over to the other binding placing the support higher on your ankle. Either way you flip it, the strap is wider on the outside maintaining that lateral support for both options.
Lifetime Warranty (Limited, See Details) - Covered under manufacturer lifetime guarantee against breakage of the baseplate or heelcup along with defects in materials or workmanship. This lifetime warranty DOES NOT cover broken bindings due to abuse or neglect, damage caused by any modification done outside the manufacturer's facility, or lost parts due to lack of hardware maintenance.
Highbacks, straps, ratchets and other components are not included under lifetime warranty.
Asym Flax / Carbon 3K - Designed for maximum response, this composite highback is made with ultra-damp Flax fibers for ECO-performance and 3k Carbon Fiber for ultra lightweight response.
Asymmetrical shape follows leg angles
Pre-rotated 5 degrees
Multi-position forward lean block with allen key hardware
Flex rating 9/10
Buckles 2.0 - Cast aluminum levers for lightness and durability that have been redesigned with stronger levers and updated springs. These new buckles can take more abuse than ever before.
Base Bushings (Soft: 40 Shore) - 40 Shore is the softest bushing available. The softer the bushing the smoother the ride, however the harder the bushing the more responsive the ride. This is a true dampening system that is placed at the main contact point to the board, which means by adjusting the hardness here it has the most impact in lessening board chatter while still allowing for powerful energy transfer directly to the edges of your board.
Base Bushings (Hard: 55 Shore) - 55 Shore is the hardest bushing available.
