Overview
A lightweight deck that doesn't sacrifice style, the Battle Axe is a top selling commuter deck. The shape isn't just visually appealing, it helps you find perfect foot placement so you can navigate the city like you never have before. The deck is 35" long which is great for anyone who has to stow their board when they get to their destination. The deck profile is listed as rocker because of the deck's flex, but honestly it's only a very slight flex so even if you're a bigger rider this board is suitable and fun and if you are concerned (like you have size 12+ shoes) just get the longer 40" version to give your feet a comfortable platform to work with. Sure, this can handle a hill or two on the way, so don't be shy. Get out there and embrace the amazing feeling you get when you push past all those suckers waiting in traffic. And feel free to tail on a bus or a taxi while you're at it, we won't tell on you.

Ride Style

Commuter - Commuter boards cover a wide range. Whether you're cruising to the store on a beverage run or crossing from suburbs to downtown and back on the daily, commuting boards are made to make your life a litter easier and a lot more fun.

Shorter boards in this category make up the cruising department. Some have functional kicktails, but they're still made to fit large wheels so you won't get hung up on any rocks. Some are even small enough they can fit in lockers or under a work desk.

Longer boards are made for distance skaters. With features like rocker, flex, and anything to lower your center of gravity, commuting boards make skating feel like you have your own cloud underfoot. These boards are really great for beginners and experienced riders alike.

Never make the boring mistake of walking again, get your commute on.

Carving & Pintail - Deep carves, boardwalk cruising, and mellow hills are calling you. This is the traditional Californian longboard and is still relevant today. You'll find the longest wheelbases in this category meant for big turns and a large surface area for dancing.

Mounting Style

Drop Through - Drop Through boards lower your center of gravity, giving you a more responsive and stable ride. Trucks are mounted through the board and truck bases will sit either flush or slightly above the deck surface. Great for high speed assaults or even cruising around town to your local watering hole.

Note: If assembling yourself, you'll first need to remove your longboard truck hanger from its base by unscrewing the kingpin. Once separated, reassemble the trucks through the mounting area (sandwiching the board between the hanger/base of the truck), then tighten the kingpin nuts and you're ready to roll.

Deck Profile

Rocker - The rocker profile can be seen from the side and is identified as a slight smile. Rocker decks are great for both downhill and freeride. You'll feel snug and secure on a rocker profile and this is especially useful for freeride beginners.

Deck Shape

Directional - Directional boards might have concave towards the front, maybe the tail is tapered, it could be shaped to have a fatter nose than tail, and it probably feels awkward if you hop on backwards. However, when you want to pump a board, or you want to have something that sets you up for the fastest line, directional boards are great. Whether you are looking for a really responsive directional board for carving and cruising or a precision downhill deck, a directional board could be in your future.

Deck Features

Cutouts - With big wheels you need lots of room to carve and dig into turns, cutouts around the wheels provide the extra space required to prevent wheelbite while cutouts for your trucks appear on drop through decks so you can ride closer to the ground.

Deck Construction

5-Ply Bamboo - Bamboo construction gives the board a nice bounce to it.

Eco Features

One Board One Tree - To give back to the environment, for every skateboard sold, Landyachtz will plant a tree. One tree produces at least 60 boards. So one tree will turn into at least 60 new trees planted. When you buy a Landyachtz deck, know that you are making a difference and improving the environment for future generations to enjoy.

Details

Medium W Concave - This variable concave provides a medium rise at the platform edges to keep your feet locked-in without allowing wheel bite when you're cutting through corners.

Suggested Hardware for Risers - Landyachtz decks are thicker than traditional decks, so longer screws are needed when adding risers to your complete. When building a custom Landyachtz complete through Skateboard Builder, use the following Risers and Hardware guide to ensure your deck mounts up correctly:

No Riser = 1 1/4" Hardware

1/8" Risers = 1 1/2" Hardware

1/2" Risers = 2" Hardware

Most Angled Risers = 2" Hardware
