Loaded Icarus 38.4" Longboard Deck
The Loaded Icarus 38.4" longboard deck has a lively, powerful flex for aggressive carving. The camber profile combined with vertically laminated bamboo and fiberglass work together to increase energy return when pumping. Drop through truck mounts enhance stability by lowering your center of gravity closer to the ground. Wheel flares accommodate larger wheels while improving leverage by giving you more lip to push against. Mild concave throughout the standing platform provides a consistent flex pattern for various foot placement options. The shorter wheel base and deck length make the Icarus a nimble, compact option for inner-city commuting. The Icarus pushes the limits of what you thought a carver should look like, but then again, this is Loaded. It's to be expected.

Carving - Deep carves, boardwalk cruising and mellow hills are calling you. You'll find the longest wheelbases in this category meant for big turns and big fun.
Freeride - Featuring concaves that create pockets for your feet and shorter wheelbases, freeride boards are meant to make power slides as natural as your choice to skate.
Drop Through - Drop Through boards lower your center of gravity giving you a more responsive and stable ride.
Camber - Camber gives you a charged feeling underfoot and better leverage for turns. They can feel a bit more like a spring at first but any rider will appreciate how this makes the board responsive.
Symmetrical - If you ever think you want to ride your board backwards (freeride/freestyle) then a symmetrical longboard shape will help you with the learning curve. Other than that, it's all preference.
Double Kicks - With a kicktail at the nose and tail of the board, ollies and flip tricks will become part of your arsenal. Double kicks are most often found on freestyle boards, but can add versatility to any skateboard.
Cutouts - Cutouts around the wheels provide the extra space required to prevent wheelbite.
Wheel Wells/Flares - For the boards that don't need full wheel cutouts, wheel wells are beveled out of the board to give the extra clearance needed to avoid wheelbite.
Mild Concave - Most longboards have a mild concave to give your feet natural curves to lock into. Choosing the right concave can be tough because it's all personal preference but mild concave is always a good place to start.
Icarus Construction - Vertically laminated bamboo and fiberglass pair with a cambered profile and a variable concave for a lively and engaging ride. The cork bottom helps dampen out vibrations without compromising the liveliness.
Icarus Flex 1 (170-250+ lbs) - The stiffest flex has the most energy potential and more stability at higher speeds but will not be as forgiving and lively when cruising. The Flex 1 is considerably stiffer and is appropriate for heavier riders and hard-pounding thrashers alike.
Icarus Flex 2 (100-200+ lbs) - Keep in mind that a softer flex pattern will give you more control and tighter turns at slower speeds and make it easier to slide, but tends to lose stability slightly at higher speeds.
Stiffer flex means more energy potential, more stability at higher speeds, and makes air moves easier, but will not be as forgiving and lively when cruising.
Custom Pre-Grip - This board comes pre-gripped from Loaded with an aggressive black griptape designed to provide maximum coverage while allowing the board to flex naturally, providing enhanced traction and control for sliding and pumping, as well as creating a serious "lock-in" on the nose and tail.
