Lib Tech has a rich history in boardsports which can be traced back to 1988 when owners Mike Olson and Pete Saari were left high and dry by their previous distributor for GNU Snowboards. Rather than accept the offer to work for the distributor, Mike and Pete kept Gnu going and started Lib Tech under Mervin MFG.
In a time when many snowboard companies outsource production overseas, Mervin has kept production in Sequim, WA to maintain complete control over the manufacturing process. In addition, they have improved sustainability through sourcing raw materials from local companies, recycling scrap wood at a local compost manufacturer, and using non-toxic water based inks. That's just one more reason to feel good about riding a Lib Tech snowboard.
