These classic skate shoes from Vans combine the flexibility of a vulcanized sole with a timeless, easy-wear silhouette.
- Original Waffle Outsole
- Gusseted Tongue
- Molded EVA Footbed
Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. These don't provide as much foot protection as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.
Original Waffle Outsole - Back in '66, Paul van Doren made the first soles of his new shoes twice as thick so they would wear longer. That decision ended up defining the company when the world's first skateboarders discovered how Vans' rubber Waffle Outsole let them feel their board while staying firmly connected to it.
Gusseted Tongue - Keeps the tongue in place and keeps precipitation out.
Molded EVA Footbed - Ethyl Vinyl Acetate (EVA) insoles are a firmer material than you would find on standard orthotic insoles to offer better shock absorption while reducing the weight of the overall shoe.
