Overview

Somewhere between hiking boots and skate shoes lies the ultimate construction to provide support and comfort for most adventures. Vans keeps these shoes light by using a sock-fit bootie construction with warm linings and seamless internals, which reduces friction and hot-spots. They also feature a grippy reverse-waffle outsole with a UltraCush™ Lite foam footbed for cushioning. If your range of exploration is unlimited, these are the shoes for you.

Sole

Cupsole - Durable and shock-absorbing to provide the best impact protection against hard landings. Cupsoles generally last longer than a vulcanized sole but don't provide as much flexibility and board feel right out of the box.

Collection

MTE Collection - Vans' Mountain Edition series features durable materials, reinforced construction and weather-resistant features to ensure you don't just look good, but feel good even out in harsher elements.

Details

LuxLiner Bootie Construction - This advanced liner construction improves the comfort and fit by enabling the shoe to conform and move with the shape of the foot. This free-floating liner is an extension of the tongue. It's hidden under the front surface of the shoe and is able to move independently from the outer shell.

This system increases airflow, breathability and reduces any chance of hot spots or pinching in the toe box.

Reverse Waffle Lug Tread - Reverse Waffle Lug tread pattern is grippy and tough for wherever you’re trying to get to.

UltraCush™ Lite - Vans' UltraCush™ Lite low-profile foam sockliner is ultralight and anatomically contoured for quick, responsive cushioning, providing a natural fit and ride.

Vans Ultrarange Hi MTE Shoes
I just received my Vans Ultrarange Hi MTE shoes today. The package was so light I wondered if Tactics forgot to pack my shoes! That's how light they are. Wearing them was even more impressive. This is my first pair of Vans with the UltraCush sockliner and it really does make a difference. I have of the original MTE's when they first came out a few years ago, and I must say the Ultrarange make the older ones feel heavy and clunky.

These shoes are so comfortable they make me wonder why I stopped wearing cupsole shoes. I can't wait till next winter when I could really put these to the test.

Vans Ultrarange Hi MTE Shoes - dress blues/black
I needed myself a durable winter shoe that was comfortable, stylish, and kept my feet dry and warm. With this shoe, I was able to get my normal size, and still be able to wear thermal socks. This shoe exceeded my expectations, I have the normal vans high top mte those are fine, but after wearing them for hours, your feet will begin to hurt because of the lack of support (typical skate shoe). This shoe makes that a thing of the past, I can have these on 8+ hours and not notice because of the great support it has. Not to mention walk through puddles and my feet won't feel a drop. I bought these for my work shoes so I'm interested to see how long it will last, but one month in I have had no problems whatsoever, and I'm considering buying another pair for casual wear for these winter months in the Midwest. The tongue of the shoe makes it real easy to just slip your foot in, as well as the the loop in the back, unlike alot of winter boots that take forever to try and squeeze on. Vans really out did themselves with this shoe, and I'm wondering why I don't see more people sporting these, it's a hidden gem.
