Not only do you get the typical features of a GORE-TEX® jacket - i.e. fully taped seams, waterproof zippers, unmatched waterproofing and breathability - Volcom also added these sweet adjustable tension lock cuff cinches to further lock out snow from coming up your sleeves. GORE-TEX® - GORE-TEX® fabric is incredibly durable, waterproof, breathable, and totally windproof. A single square inch of this fabric contains 9 billion microscopic pores—each 20,000 times smaller than a raindrop, but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapor. Water can’t pass through the fabric, yet perspiration escapes with ease. You’ll find this next level molecular construction on all GORE-TEX® fabrics.

Seams

Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.

Zip Tech® Jacket to Pant Interface - Nothing lowers motivation faster than snow jammed down your pants and up the back of your jacket. A V-Co patented invention Zip Tech® allows you to zip the powder skirt of any Volcom jacket to any Volcom pant, keeping snow out and heat in with no restriction of movement.
