The Roan Bib Overall provides great waterproofing and breathability, with a V-Science 2-layer shell to keep you dry and a V-Science Breathable Lining System to keep you moving comfortably. On top of the already convenient design, this bib has a modern relaxed fit designed to move with you and allow for easy layering. Seams
Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.
Material Explanation
REPREVE® Recycled Fiber - Fibers transformed from recycled plastic waste, REPREVE® is the leading performance fiber made from recycled materials. Celebrating 30 billion bottles recycled, REPREVE® is known as a "Champion of Sustainability" so you can rest assured every garment made with REPREVE® fibers means less plastic waste in landfills and in the ocean.

YKK® AquaGuard® Water Repellent Zipper - A smooth, durable, water repellent zipper that enhances the function and performance of your high quality garment.
Zip Tech® Jacket to Pant Interface - Nothing lowers motivation faster than snow jammed down your pants and up the back of your jacket. A V-Co patented invention, the heavily imitated jacket-to-pant interface allows you to zip the powder skirt of any Volcom jacket to any Volcom pant, keeping snow out and heat in with no restriction of movement. Falling has never been more enjoyable.

Volcom Roan Bib Overall Pants - black
I really like these bib pants. The pockets in the chest piece are super handy. Some other features that are nice are the reinforced bottom of the pant leg to prevent wear from walking. The pants aren't insulated, but are of a thicker material than some other brands.

Volcom Roan Bib Overall Pants - black
I wanted to get away from the bulkiness of outerwear when skiing. I cut out the 'mid layer' on the bottoms and went with a waterproof/windproof shell bib. I was concerned it might be cold but was fine and left me much 'freer' in movement. I now use a 'union' base layer, ski bib (no snow can get in between top and bottom), a wool mid layer top and insulated ski jacket. That works well, but I also have heated gloves and socks if it gets too cold. I've seen similar looking bibs for twice as much. I have never spent that much so don't know if there is anything to gain. These are exactly what I needed.
