GORE-TEX® - GORE-TEX® fabric is incredibly durable, waterproof, breathable, and totally windproof. A single square inch of this fabric contains 9 billion microscopic pores—each 20,000 times smaller than a raindrop, but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapor. Water can’t pass through the fabric, yet perspiration escapes with ease. You’ll find this next level molecular construction on all GORE-TEX® fabrics.

Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.

infiLOFT™ - Circular-like filament groupings individually retain heat yet provide the air movement between each group. The end result is moisture resistance, loft-like feel with superior lightweight warmth.

Insulation Rating (g)

Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.

GORE-SEAM® Tape - This tape ensures every seam and stitch hole is sealed.

Hood Link System - An added clip to the one-cinch hood adjuster and a single loop inside your hood lets you compress this jacket easily for packing it away in a travel bag.

Media Pocket - A jacket lining pocket with a media port for one's music playing device.

Lycra® Wrist Gaiters - Soft, stretchy Lycra® fends off the cold without adding bulk or restricting movement.

Jacket to Pant Interface - Connect your jacket to your pants for better protection from the elements.

686 Women's GLCR GORE-TEX Willow Insulated Jacket - red clay waterland camo
I bought this jacket for my kiddo after I had a good experience in mine. She loves the fall colors. There were absolutely no complaints from her even in the worst freezing (-48 one day) temperatures of this winter. This jacket and a couple of base layers are all one needs while snowboarding. Kept her dry in a few downpours as well. It’s a great coat for active winter fun.

686 Women's GLCR GORE-TEX Willow Insulated Jacket - red clay
I’ve worn this coat on two different snowboarding trips so far and it worked well both times. The first was during the big ice storm that went through the country over Christmas. The rain turned to ice as it fell and gathered on the outside of the jacket. Inside I remained warm and dry with only two base layers underneath. The next time it was in the high 40s and my upper body was warm enough with just one layer. The zippers are a little stiff but I’m hoping that with use they will ease up. I’ve worn it in downpours and the Gore-Tex works as it should. It’s a great coat.
