Carefully created to be skated to their maximum, the Converse AS-1 Pro skate shoes are Converse Pro Alexis Sablone's debut signature piece. Inspired by a vintage cupsole, these shoes are perfect for skaters who seek style and durability. Rubber pods protrude through the flicking area for visible durability while an innovative coring system distributes impact protection beyond the sockliner.

Sole
Cupsole - Durable and shock-absorbing to provide the best impact protection against hard landings. Cupsoles generally last longer than a vulcanized sole but don't provide as much flexibility and board feel right out of the box.
Details
Herringbone Tread Pattern - This pattern offers superior grip, which is rather important when you're skating.
CX Foam Sockliner - This highly absorbent CX foam made from molded polyurethane (PU) provides comfort and cushioning that will keep its shape and never pack-out giving you lasting protection.

Converse AS-1 Pro Skate Shoes - black/black/white
I was a little worried skating this shoe, as its been several years since I skated a cup sole. For reference I had been skating the Franky Villany lows for the past several pairs of shoes, but thought that these looked sick so I figured Id try them. I was worried that the AS-1 wouldnt have enough board feel, be too bulky or feel clunky. I was pleasantly surprised that none of those worries came true. The board feel is great. Id say its similar to a vans half cab, but maybe a little thinner. Definitely thicker than the Franky Villanys but not enough to make my tricks feel uncomfortable. The rubber on the Ollie patch is great for preventing ripped laces and holes. The flick in this shoe is unmatched. They seem to be holding up well too. No ripping along the seems after two weeks of skating. The only downside is the break in time. Took about two three hour sessions before they felt fully broken in. Maybe thats normal for cup soles, I wouldnt know. But its definitely longer than any vulc shoe I had skated.

These are my favorite shoes so far. Theyre really comfortable and hold up well. The sole is cushioned so my feet last longer before hurting. Theyre so nice I bought 2.

Slimmer & Lighter Dunk Dressed as an Oxford

Converse AS-1 Pro Skate Shoes
Shoe looks dope on foot. Fits true to size, but I have flat feet so it's snug in the toebox area. I'm not sure if it's the rubber pod design or the interior stitching in that area, but it rubbed the knuckle of my pinkie toe something awful. Not sure if going half size up will take that away so flat footers beware. Stiff af out of the box, but breaks in pretty quick (only took me 3 hour long sessions). Surprised at how much boardfeel I had with these. Flick is awesome, but wished for more reinforcement on the toe cap. It was curtains for my pair once I busted through the stitches, but really enjoyed skating it for the 3 weeks before that.

They are super cool and stylish, but if you arnt gonna skate them and just wear them casually, then you might have to bend them and stretch them to Get them broken in and don’t tie them tight, keep them loose or else it might hurt right to wear out of the box. I play hockey though and it’s muscle memory to tie things on my feet tight so it may just be me lol. Absolutely sick shoes though!
