The Chuck Taylor All Star Pro skate shoes from Converse feature the classic look with a pro touch that never gets old. Nike Zoom Air Heel offers enhanced comfort and impact protection with a vulcanized construction for flexible board feel.

  • Vulcanized
  • Cons Traction Rubber
  • Molded OrthoLite Sockliner
  • Zoom Air Bag Heel
  • Rubber Underlay at Ollie Area

Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. The sole consists of several layers of rubber, glued together then attached to the upper with rubber foxing tape. Vulcanized soles don’t provide as much foot protection or support as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.

Cons Traction Rubber - Converse maintains their iconic blue outsole and has updated their classic Converse vulcanized rubber compound to increase board traction for today's skateboarder and offers 70% increased griptape traction.

Molded OrthoLite Sockliner - Specially developed Converse double density molded OrthoLite sockliner features heel and forefoot pads in high impact areas for energy dispersion.

OrthoLite foam fights against fungus, bacteria and odor through a patented environmentally friendly biocide

High level of breathability and moisture wicking, OrthoLite's open cell polyurethane foam is 95-100% breathable allowing air to circulate through the sockliner.

Zoom Air Bag Heel - Nike Zoom technology combines pressurized air with internal fibers to deliver highly responsive cushioning that springs back fast for maximum impact protection.

Rubber Underlay at Ollie Area - Added durability thanks to the .8mm layer of rubber right where you need it most

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Pro Skate Shoes
If you wear a size 11 or bigger these shoes will make you look like a clown even when you go a size down. The eyelets and toe cap make your feet appear longer so I don't recommend if you wear slimmer style pants. These are a little stiff on the toes for skating but the insole is nice.

They have laces and soles. They are black. I can walk in them. I can also skate in them which is pretty cool. I use FP insoles. Says nothing about the shoe or the quality of its insole, just a shameless plug for FP because they aren't paying me and I'm loyal like that.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Pro Skate Shoes
I want to preface this by saying that the ones I have, Tactics doesn't have in stock, they're the suede backed twill ones. And oh my are they good. I bought 2 pairs, because they look great for wearing out, and they're great to skate in. I really like how the shoes look when they start to wear through the twill to the suede as well, like a burst of a deeper blue comes through, and it gives the shoe an added layer of material before they meet their end. Super grippy, super durable on account of the thick rubber toe cap, and the lunarlon insert makes these so much better than the regular chucks that I was so accustomed to skating when I was growing up a kid in a less than well to do family. I also love the gusseted tongue, keeps little pebbles out of the shoe better, provides a bit more secure fit, and keeps the tongue from shifting around. Converse took a classic and made it a performer. I'm thrilled and will buy more in the future.

One thing to keep in mind, is that these run about a half size large, so if you've got a fairly narrow foot and usually wear a 10 like I do, buy a 9.5 and it will be perfect.

Love the converse made for skateboarding shoes...chucks and one stars. Great for skating or hanging out. Feel great on your feet. They run just a tiny bit big.

Nothing beats the classic look the Chuck Taylor gives. Converse is killing it in the skate department. Grab a pair of these fast! I am not digging the change of the insoles in their 2018 models. Personally I like the Lunarlon insole over the Zoom Air unit. Changing the insoles isn't difficult anyway. The shoes maintain the overall shape for a long time and the grip is consistent throughout the life of the shoes. These shoes can take a beating even though they're very thin. I highly recommend if you have had any urges to try them out!

Asked by Eric D on 12/24/2016
I had the Trapasso Pro II before and a 9.5 was slightly too big, do you think since it had the chuck sole, a 9 would be perfect in these?
Answered by James D (Tactics Employee) on 12/29/2016
That sounds about right. I generally wear a 9.5 in skate shoes, but skate in 8.5's for chucks. I might recommend trying a whole size down from the shoe size you wear in most other brands.

I'm interested in buying a new pair suede chucks. Is the fit true to the size or should I buy them a half size smaller like the old chucks before Nike bought them?
Answered by Elijah W (Tactics Employee) on 6/6/2016
A half size smaller is perfect. Had to do the same with mine. Even though they are manufactured by Nike they go off relatively similar blueprints for the shoe.

How's the sizing on these compared to the Pappalardo's? I used to wear a size 11 in those while I normally wear a size 12 in other shoes.
Answered by James D (Tactics Employee) on 5/17/2016
Chuck Taylors are traditionally a longer fit. I usually wear a 10 in other shoes and I wear a 9 in these. They have a long and narrow fit though so if you like your shoes to have room for width don't get something too small.

How's the sizing of these? Do they run larger like most Converse usually do?
Answered on 8/14/2013
no, they are sized like most converse are sized. for example, if you normally wear a 9 in most shoes, you would wear an 8.5 in this shoe.
