The asymmetrical Space Case C2X is Forrest Bailey’s signature freestyle board that is highly evolved for taking on the most challenging technical lines from the park to the backcountry. Bailey designed this board for intermediate to advanced riders looking to progress their skills with a versatile hybrid profile and a stiffer flex pattern for maximum response in all conditions. The aggressive rocker / camber combination beneath your feet increases edge hold on hard pack and float in powder while adding solid pressure to the tip and tail to boost energy return, pop and end-to-end stability. If you want to work towards a creative riding style like Forest Bailey's, the Space Case is the board for you.

C2X Banana Rocker/Elliptical Camber Profile - This is Mervin's top of the line freestyle blend that performs halfway between original Banana Tech and C3. However, the X stands for 'Xtreme', so this variation of the C2 formula leans on the aggressive foot. Rocker between your feet blended with elliptical camber to contact points. Focuses pressure between your feet for easy turns, great edge hold on ice and a medium amount of pressure to the tip and tail. This provides end-to-end stability and 'Xtreme' pop while maintaining great float and catch-free freestyle.
Asym Sidecut: Balance Through Asymmetry - Asymmetric Sidecuts and construction balance the different turning mechanics required for heel-side and toe-side turns. Your body is asymmetric, which means your snowboard should also be asymmetric. Ride better and have more fun through asymmetry!
Toe Side: More finesse through your toes and precise fingertip like edge control. Increased angle of edge attack can be achieved through cumulative articulation of the toe, ankle and knee joints. Essentially: balance.
Heel Side: More power through the heels. A lower angle of edge attack and more power can be achieved due to natural joint mechanics, there is a straight line from the heel up through your leg to the strongest muscles and body mass. Essentially: stomp.
Asym Level 2 - To really progress, you have to push the limits of the gear you ride. That's where Asymmetrical board design comes into play. When you want to feel a powerful, aggressive, difference, Level 2 Asym does the trick. The wood used inside the board is softer on the heelside edge making the flex a bit easier. The sidecut is more aggressive so it's easier to transition from toe to heel. Lastly, the edge contact is also shorter which means it's harder to catch that edge when you're landing/riding switch. Welcome to the future.
Magne-Traction Serrated Edges - Replaces the “two contact point” ski theory that conventional skis and snowboards have. Gnu's Magne-Traction boards have seven! Seven is more than two. With Magne-Traction, when your two outside contact points lose grip, you’ve still got five more to take over, which means you won’t fall as much. Control and turn initiation comes from under your feet, not a foot and a half to either side of your feet. Better edge hold. Climbs icy pipes! Turns ice into powder and rides like a skateboard!
Aspen/Paulownia Core - Gnu builds boards with fast growing farmed eco woods selected specifically for their long fibers, light weight, strength, long lasting pop and great feel. This particular board uses the following woods:
Aspen: Light, strong and lively long fibers.
Paulownia: Light, strong and poppy.
UHMW External Sidewalls - Ultra High Molecular Weight exterior sidewalls made from soy-based elastomer are laminated to five internal wood layers for totally bombproof sidewalls. Fast, rugged, hard, waterproof.
Bi-Axial Glass - 2-way fiber orientation. Engineered to make the difficult easy.
Tri-Axial Glass - 3-way fiber orientation. Engineered to make the difficult even easier.
Eco-Sub PBT Top Sheet - Sounds technical right? It just means the top sheet is made from sublimated polyester material that's great for vibrant yet durable graphics, which means a long lasting image. When the graphics are as good as Gnu's you'll be glad you have it.
Sintered Knife Cut - Aptly named, this base is designed for speed, speed, and more speed. Sintered bases hold wax really well, but to get the most out of your speed machine, we recommend you setup your own waxing ritual to ensure you make fast, sharp, lines down the mountain every time.
1 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 1 year from the time of purchase. Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear expected from aggressive riding.
Sorry folks, but bashing your board on a rock or rail does not qualify as a "manufacturer's defect" and will not be honored.
