Overview

Making a good splitboard isn't as easy as taking a hacksaw to a snowboard. The Jones Solution uses advanced eco-friendly manufacturing processes to create an extremely responsive splitboard that absorbs chatter while maintaining the stiffness needed to maintain control while flying down the steepest chutes. As an update for this season, the Solution is now equipped with the smaller and lighter, Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0.

Key Features

Jones Directional Rocker - A hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern defined by more tip rocker then tail rocker and slight camber between the bindings. The rocker tip gives the nose added float and improves maneuverability while the camber underfoot gives you added edge hold and response. A slightly rocker tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free initiating turns and landing switch.

Traction Tech 2.0 - Traction Tech 2.0 utilizes two bumps per edge (front binding, back binding) for improved edge control and enhanced grip in all conditions.

3D Base Contour 3.0 - Freeride oriented, 3D Contour Base 3.0 features a generous 7mm of spoon bevel in the nose and tail.

Core

FSC™ Ultra Split Core - The lightest split wood core from Jones Snowboards yet. The core is made from mostly paulownia with specially positioned poplar stringers for better durability and turn power.

Laminates

Triax Fiberglass - This lightweight, multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminate provides torsional stiffness, pop and response for a precise controlled ride in a multitude of terrain and snow conditions.

Flax/Basalt Power Stringers - Sustainable stringer made with 100% natural fibers. Composite Flax and Basalt stringer helps transfer power to the edges, improves torsional response and absorbs board chatter.

Base

Sintered 9900 Base - Made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and Carbon. This ultra-fast base is easy to repair and extremely quick on snow.

Details

Progressive Sidecut - Delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.

Forever Flex - Forever Flex is a new manufacturing process that helps stabilize the flex and rocker of a board for its lifetime.

Bolt-Less Bridge - This eliminates split clip attachment hardware from the base of the board by re-profiling the wood core at the clips. The wood core under the clips is thicker providing better torsional stiffness and a more powerful connection at the split clips.

Karakoram Tip-Lock Tip Clips - Every splitboarder knows the feeling - you drop into a firm line and your tip clip pops open! Never again. Using Active Joining Technology, the Karakoram Tip-Lock tip clips quickly lock and clamp the tips of your splitboard with the flick of the lever.

Karakoram Ultra Clip - Karakoram Ultra clips are lower profile, stronger and increase compression between board halves.

Inner Edge Traction Tech - Improves splitboard edge and grip on the ascent. Three side cut "bumps" on each side of your binding keep you locked in on icy skin tracks no matter which way you are traversing.

Eco-Plastic Topsheet - Bio-plastic top sheet made from Castor beans features a subtle texture for increased durability. This eco-material is lightweight and chip/scratch resistant.

Flip Flop Base Graphics - By flip-flopping the base graphic colors, P-Tex waste is drastically reduced by increasing the material yield.

Recycled ABS - ABS plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improves the sustainability of their snowboards by only using recycled plastic.

Oversize Recycled Steel Edges - All Jones boards are made with oversize recycled steel edges for added durability and improved production sustainability.

FSC™ Sustainable Wood Core - All Jones wood cores are made with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC™) certified wood. Every piece of wood used comes from a responsibly managed forest.

1% For The Planet - Jones Snowboards has committed to contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes. The mission of 1% for the Planet is to "build, support and activate an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet."

Supports "Protect Our Winters" - Protect Our Winters (POW) was started in 2007 by THE Jeremy Jones. It serves to educate about the importance of environmental protection to ensure a prosperous future for the outdoor recreation economy.

Jones Solution Splitboard
Only had it out a couple days on some Souther California corn, I love it though my first split board but as a skier as well this board tours great is light and rips on the way down and has good pop.

Jones Solution Splitboard
This is by far the best splitboard I've ridden. I had an older solution for a few years and loved it, but this one takes the cake. The spoon tech in the nose and tail makes it ride much more like a Jones solid board. also the wider nose and tapered tail ride infinitely better in pow than the older shape did. This 162w is by far the biggest board I've ever owned, but it's really fun to bomb and is still super nimble. If you want a pure pow board, get a hovercraft, but if you want a great pow board and high performance, get this.

Jones Snowboards Solution Splitboard (Closeout)
I live and play in the back country of Alaska and when Jeremy jones came out with a split board I knew it was finally time to get one. I had been waitin seeing as no other company had really impressed me with anything from their product lines. The board is amazingly light but is also the best board I have ever ridden. The directional rocker design makes it almost impossible to bury the nose and coupled with the Karakoram binding system this is the most advanced bomber backcountry snowboard you can buy. Rode at least sixty days on this bad boy this year and with the magnatraction it is a dream on any terrain going up or down. I there's one name in backcountry technology you can trust its Jeremy Jones. I would reccomend this board to anyone.

Good for a split board but...

Jones Snowboards Solution Splitboard (Closeout)
Too flexy at the connection joint, yet rides stiff on the edges. Still great for a split board but this whole category and technology have a long way to go. Not nearly as good a ride as an all mountain board and needs to be lighter for back country and more stable at speed.
