- Thinner and lighter than Spark's standard heel loops while maintaining the required strength.
- All Spark R&D Pro models feature hollow stainless steel pivot pins, which is a 33% weight savings over the pivot pins on the standard Arc and Surge bindings. Being steel, the pivot pins cannot be anodized. Pro bindings are compatible with all aluminum Tesla / T1 brackets.

Carbon Reinforced Nylon Highbacks - More responsive, lighter, and stiffer than Spark's standard glass reinforced highbacks. Injection molding allows for more complex geometry and improved impact strength compared to other methods of carbon fiber construction.
Rip ‘N’ Flip Highback - Built from 3D scans of many popular boots used by splitboarders to get the shape and feel just right, it has everything you need and nothing you don't, from skin track to shredding.

Pillow Line Straps - Pillow Line Straps are lightweight - 46% lighter than their fabric strap predecessors. They are ultradurable, comfortable, waterproof, and made 100% in-house. Strap pillows are thin and flexible for a comfortable, conformed fit, while thicker ribs are held off the boot and provide stiffness for a uniquely responsive ride.
Arc ankle straps have a smaller footprint than the Surge and feature a flex window for max agility while maintaining support.
The toe straps come in one construction for both Arc and Surge models, and are designed to be used as a toe cap but also fit traditionally over the top.
Spark R&D / Burton Buckles and Plastics - Low profile and designed to Spark R&D specs, these parts are manufactured with Burton's time-tested bomber secret recipe of materials.
LT Aluminum Pin System - Self-lubricating plastic bushings within the touring bracket drastically reduce wear and allow the use of 7075 aluminum pins.
Aluminum pins are half the weight of standard Spark pins, shaving 3.5oz/100g off the setup.
CNC Machined - All Spark R&D splitboard bindings are CNC machined from billet aluminum for maximum strength.
Tesla System - Tesla is Spark's premium splitboard binding system with touring brackets, crampons and climbing wires all working together with no unnecessary moving parts - just a clean, simple design that raises the bar in splitboard binding technology.
Ibex Crampon Compatability - Designed to work seamlessly with Tesla and Tesla T1 System bindings, and backwards compatible to replace the previous Sabertooth Crampon. Lightweight aluminum construction for max strength and minimum weight. Installation and removal is effortless and can be done on the fly by sliding sideways into and out of Tesla Touring Bracket claw mounts. Teeth are fully engaged when used with or without the dual position climbing wire for maximum security on dicey terrain.
Fatty Climbing Wires and Heel Rests - Now integrated into the binding baseplate, Spark R&D's 12° and 18° climbing wires provide skinning stability and Achilles comfort on the way up. Designed the full width of the binding, they put your edging power right where it belongs – on the edges!

Voile Puck Compatiblity - The time-tested Voile pucks remain the most functional, and snow-clearing way to attach your splitboard bindings to the board in ride mode.
T1 Heel Rest - Redesigned heel rest catches the climbing wire in the 12° and 18° positions and is specifically designed to hold the new T1 Heel Locker in place.
T1 Heel Locker - Riders can lock down the heel in tour mode to better adapt to diversified terrain types where quick descents, side-stepping, traversing, and skate-splitting become more effective means of backcountry travel. Better yet, they are forward releasable as an extra safety measure.
Fusion Molded Touring Brackets - Bushings and brackets are combined in this one-piece molded design using improved material properties in the bushings which offers a more durable setup with a 40% weight reduction.
Back compatible with all Ibex crampons and previous year Tesla and T1 bindings.
