Released in 1992 the Half Cab was a true icon of innovation. Street skaters in the 90's would cut off the collar of the original Vans Caballero pro model giving birth to the Half Cab. With skateboarding ever changing Vans completely revamped the Half Cab creating, the Vans Skate Half Cab. This shoe apart of "Vans Skate Classics" line of footwear. The most iconic skate shoes created by Vans but revamped to fit the needs of modern day skateboarding. These shoes integrate tongue straps for a snug fit, DURACAP™ underlay for durability, SickStick™ a rubber compound used to make a grippy outsole, and internal heel shanks to deliver more board feel in order to create a classic yet modern skate shoe.

  • Vulcanized
  • PopCush™
  • Duracap™
  • SickStick™

Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. These don't provide as much foot protection as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.

PopCush™ - Vans' PopCush insoles snap back and won't pack! This proprietary foam compound was meticulously tuned and tested for impact protection, superior cushioning, and custom energy return. This upgraded foam performs better than Vans' UltraCush™ compound for all types of skating so you can skate longer and go harder than ever before.

Duracap™ - Developed and tested to withstand the abuse of the Vans pro skateboarding team; reinforcement is provided through rubber underlays in the toebox and ollie-area for lasting durability to save you time and money.

SickStick™ - Taking inspiration from Vans' beloved original gum rubber formula, the SickStick formula is the grippiest and the stickiest gum sole in Vans history. Extensively tested by Vans' team riders, the formula is uniquely calibrated to deliver enhanced grip and durability, and also make a firm bind to the foxing tape, so you can be in complete control of your board.

Vans Skate Half Cab Shoes
You skate? You have to try a pair. It is mandatory. There is a reason that at a minimum, 80% of the old guys at the park in the morning wear these. They have great boardfeel, good heel support, and last a little bit. No, you won't skate these for 4-5 months, but they last a lot longer than you think they will. The flick in them is REALLY good, too. Word of warning: if you have a super wide foot, these may be too narrow. You can't really loosen up the are in the toe where your foot is the widest. Another tip: wear these just walking around for about a week, then they are ready to skate.

Hard to go wrong with half cabs. Breaks in fast and has good board feel without sacrificing too much durability
