A Vans' classic canvas shoe for the ladies. Keeping things real since '66. The women's Authentic shoes from Vans have stayed true to their roots since 1966. Now they've become a classic for any casual occasion. The Authentic was the first lace-up shoe featuring Vans' signature waffle bottom construction and original vulcanized sole.
Vulcanized - “Vulc” shoes are light, flexible and break in quickly. The sole consists of several layers of rubber, glued together then attached to the upper with rubber foxing tape. Vulcanized soles don’t provide as much foot protection or support as cupsoles, but they are preferred if you’re looking for good board feel in a shoe with less weight and bulk.
Original Waffle Outsole - Back in '66 Paul van Doren made the first soles of his new shoes twice as thick so they would wear longer. That decision ended up defining the company when the world's first skateboarders discovered how Vans' Waffle Outsole let them feel their board while staying firmly connected to it.
